Thank you so much! I feel better about my choice. Don't know why I am always second guessing myself. Maybe because there are sooo many choices!! I am excited about seeing the deluxe rooms. I have never stayed in one before so maybe I will be really surprised by the size when I see it in person. :)

The deluxe room looks awesome to me!!! :goodvibes

Okay so it's just another morning when once again I'm late to the party!!! There is just no way I can respond to all the chatting that is going on! I'm retired but maybe I need to set an alarm to keep up with my RC family? :confused3

:rotfl: The big news is we are waiting on Ms. Kook to announce a change:goodvibes

And I am attempting to decide if I should keep Pop for August or book AKL :confused3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Mr. RC QUEEN!!!!

Kook I wear a 10.5 too. I blame it on the running flattening them out. They keep getting bigger. I think for a night or two it would be fine. As long as you end your trip at your favorite. I have only spent 1 night at a non-deluxe resort. I am considering the Cars suite for a few nights on one of our trips. It's fun to try something new for a couple on nights, but I wouldn't commit to anything longer than that.
You're supposed to go up at least a half size for running shoes - the running swells your feet - so don't feel bad.

You are funny with your forays into alternate WDW accommodations.

So are you back on Deluxe ground? When I do a Cars Suite it will be for a weekend, but I won't stay past 2 nights at AoA. ... I can't speak for all of Aug/Sept FD, but the end of our stay overlaps the very beginning of FD every year now, and it is noticeably more crowded at the very start of FD than the couple days before FD starts. Lots of NY/NJ/PA/CT peeps getting a vaca before school starts. But it is all relative and we are always happy at WDW no matter the crowd levels, so I say add the days. :)
Thank you for the FD/crowd analysis and for not including VA in your list of WDW crowd-making states:goodvibes

I'm a size 10!!!! but...I'm only 5'3!!!! How tall are you guys?!?! I was a runner in my past life so I'll blame the feet on that too.
I'm 5'10" so I guess I have an excuse for having big feet:confused3. Isn't it great we can walk faster through the parks to get to FPs and ADRs:thumbsup2

I think tomorrow is going to be the BEST day so far....meeting one of my VERY favorite members of our RC family.:rolleyes1

:dance3:
UPDATE, please:flower3:
It feels nice to know I'm not the only Bigfoot in our RC family! I have about 10.5 but also wide so I wear an 11 in many shoes to make up for the width. I HATE my feet.
Don't hate your feet - embrace them! We get around faster and if we raise our toes up, we can ski on them;)
Kook...Thanks...glad you like my 'borrowed' picture;) What's up with the resort/date change???
DD has a camp (Geometry:rolleyes:) during the week we were to leave for FL so we're going to have to leave one week later (but, I was able to add a day (DA) so now we have 14 nights:rolleyes1).

WL/CL is a staying at 8 nights which leave 6 up front. I'm trying to figure this all out now that I'm back home.

Kook.....UPDATE already! And I'm assuming it's not AoA...just sayin':rolleyes1 Do you mind if I say... "Told you so"???
I'm stuck! HELP! I've got to figure out these first 6 nights: First two nights AOA FS then 4 nights Kidani one bedroom? Or AKL/CL? Or YC/CL? (BLT and CR aren't available) Or skip AoA and stay 6 nights at?????

3 c-sections here! Easy-peasy!!:thumbsup2 My first was right at 10 pounds...he wouldn't come out...the other 2 were scheduled! I'm all about a schedule!! It's all about being orgainzed with a plan...that's me!
Scheduled sounds divine, Heather. My one and only was a preemie: PROM - abruption - emergency C-Section after 3 weeks ABR in a Korean hospital:sad2:. I think I'll stop there, thank you very much.

So quick question for my friends over here at RC. Help me out because I am starting to waver on my decision again and I need some opinions. Right now the 6 of us are booked at BWI in a Deluxe Club level room. It sleeps 6 (two queen beds and one pull out sofa). I like that it is within walking distance to Epcot and DHS and that we have the lounge for breakfast and snacks though out the day. I like the pool and the location and I got a pretty good offer on the room. (35% off pin). I don't like that the buses share with Swalphin, BC,YC, and it may be hard for us to get to MK, AK, and the water parks without a lengthily bus ride. I also think the room might be a tad small but in reality only a little bit smaller square footage wise than AOA. (Looks like AOA is about 600sq feet/ BWI is a little over 500 but one bathroom instead of two. Might mean more living room though?)
I keep wondering if I should switch to AOA? I like that AOA is a larger room, two bathrooms, and less money. We have never stayed at a value so that does make me a little nervous. I don't like that there is only one Full size bed (Little small for DH and me). No slide at the pool and the buses make me a little nervous. Although maybe the buses to MK and AK would be better at AOA over BWI? Hubby won't like the "loud" rooms but the kids would probably love it. No roll aways, which BWI did say they could get us a roll away which means I don't need to have my oldest two share a bed which they would like. They would have to share at AOA. So please tell me I made a good decision with BWI and that I shouldn't change. I hate doubting my choice. Thanks!
Isn't AoA awfully tempting? AoA actually has a queen bed in the master and is 565 SF. The BWI Deluxe room is 645 SF. AoA has its own buses, unlike BWI. But, you can walk to DHS and Epcot from BWI. If you haven't already seen them, I have Deluxe BWI room photos from psac posted on the first page of the BWI.

Okay KOOK, anxiously awaiting your changes popcorn:: Why do I have a feeling you are doing something big?!!!

P.S. And I have size 8 feet! Jealous? Don't be, they never have shoes in my size
I always feel like I see size 8s:scratchin. Have you tried Nordstrom Rack? Tons of shoes in every size - big and small.

I'm anxiously awaiting my changes, too:laughing:. I think I need to eat lunch first. I spent two hours at the gym so I need some fuel to be at my resort-changing, date-altering, day-adding best!

It sounds like you answered your own question:laughing: Seems like you have more negatives when talking about AoA. If you're a deluxe person, you might have a difficult time making the switch:confused3 I can't help ya when it comes to the bus situation...I've never stayed at BWI, but there are plenty of ladies on this thread that have:thumbsup2 If it were me, I would stay put...can't beat CL;)

Heather
And how is THIS helping me to book AoA:confused3

Yeah I hated pregnancy!

 You're the bestest Sarah....today for DH I think a change from Pop to hmmmm BC?
Me, too! I'm glad it was only 7 months though:rolleyes1

JC is the bestest!

:rotfl: The big news is we are waiting on Ms. Kook to announce a change:goodvibes

AKL!!! Sitting on the balcony in the evening with hubby! Spa time with hubby! Wonderful places to eat with hubby! Need I say more? :cool1:

I'm gonna show him the birthday wishes..he will love it! I did a 7 month pregnancy....the hardest one...all the issues. he'll healthy now  hmmmm AoA or.....YC would be a nice split...you like it there :goodvibes I say this as I look at my AKL pics

Hurry up...eat lunch

AKL!!! Sitting on the balcony in the evening with hubby! Spa time with hubby! Wonderful places to eat with hubby! Need I say more? :cool1:

I know.....this may be it...to CL or not to CL that is the question :confused3

Gotta update myself on your TR...after staying offsite DH doesn't ever want to stay onsite...except RPR :rolleyes1 He loved Pop...the man loves a bargain...

Most of our DHs don't get it...that's why we have each other! AKL is amazing, he will enjoy exploring the resort as well!. I will keep fingers crossed for a good discount, luckily AKL tends to be one of the cheaper deluxes....the pool is great...and there are flamingoes over in the pool area:dance3:

Wow, this is a busy board, and no way can I keep up with the conversation. Yet.
Oh now I am sooo excited to stay at the AKL and I didn't know about flamingos! I love flamingos. Now I have to decide which view to pay for. Arusha seems so costly when there are viewing areas all over the resort, but then I can't imagine how it would be to look out your "bedroom" window and view zebras, giraffes, flamingos, etc. would be either! Can someone give me a comparison as to the different views and which is the best value for the money? Well in your opinion of course as I guess there will be difference among individuals. I want to be near the bus stop and drink refills for sure and no view of just a rooftop or parking lot. Not sure how many nights as it will depend on costs.

kook hmmmmm ... 2 nights at AoA and 4 nights at AKL .... then you can come back and give us your opinion of the resort. Actually this is good that you have 6 days to play with .... you've got your 8 nights at WL ... but now you can play the change game!!! :rotfl2:

Kook I buy new running shoes every 6 weeks. I always buy mens 9 1/2. They are much easier to find than the women's 11. I had to give up Nordstroms for Disney.:sad2: Since you don't like the epcot area, you don't like Poly, and GF has construction issues.... what about CR. I really think you might like YC cl. I can't picture you anywhere but CL.

Pas I would pick AKl Cl or what about Poly Cl. Your dh loves the Poly Cl. It's easy to suggest Poly Cl when it's somebody else's money.

I know.....this may be it...to CL or not to CL that is the question :confused3

Since I've never done CL I can't help you there. On one hand lots of good food to eat at the resort but on the other hand you are a ways away from other places to eat? :confused3

Has anyone stayed at Kidani? Is there something negative about the Kidani one bedroom I don't know about? It is $140 more per night than an AKL/CL room so that kind of bothers me. We've stayed once at AKL/SV (DH hasn't), but we didn't stay CL. Any thoughts on their CL lounge?

I ate the same lunch as a sick person - a banana and leftover brown rice:rotfl:

I hate seeing that awful roof when you're walking down the hallways at YC/CL and I dislike rooms with wallpaper - I'm hopeless.

I would never stay at AKL without a Savanna View - it is a must. AKL is all about the animals and sitting there on your balcony in the morning watching them is amazing.

Another one for AKL? Not Kidani, Mrs. DVC? Why is no one for Kidani yet? I need to know!

Six WEEKS? You run 500 miles in 6 weeks? Are you a marathoner? I get 4 or 5 months out of mine since I only use them about 33 miles a week. I love Asics because they come in every size AND width combo. I order them online and for my feet they're the best.

You have a great memory about my resort issues (CR/BLT is booked). Actually, now DD13 doesn't like CL because she says we spend too much time in the lounge and she'd rather eat/snack elsewhere. Kids.

A pool view would be the cheapest WITH a nice view. Close to pool & Mara for QS...possible Flamingo view. MUCH cheaper than Arusha...you can walk the resorts to see the animals. I love the savannah view. Most of my time was spent walking the resort and the different savannahs. If value is important.Pool view...JMHO

OMG...please do stop...that sounds terrifying! What a blessing your daughter must be!

And how is THIS helping me to book AoA:confused3

It's not! You keep answering your own questions:rolleyes1You're trying to convince yourself. Is it possible to just spend maybe one night? We did that at ASMo...arrived late in the evening and didn't want to pay a deluxe price for that night....just a thought.

:rotfl: The big news is we are waiting on Ms. Kook to announce a change:goodvibes

Kidani is HUGE. Not just the rooms the resort. I LOVED Kidani, butit is very spread out and the savannah views are too, as for CL the lounge overlooks the lobby. The CL CMs were nice, but no WOW factor for me. Offerings weren't really our style in the evening. They have scones! :cloud9: I did get a beautiful basket of food/chocolates and carved giraffe for my birthday though :yay:

Kook...ya know I'll give you a full report, pictures included, of AKL CL...no worries!! We only made 3000 pictures on our last Disney trip:rolleyes:

Kook I used to run marathons. I don't like to put more than 300 miles on my shoes or I'll get injured. I used to run 100+ miles a week. That was pre kids. Now it's around 40-50. I have started working out more on the elipitical. It's less stress on my body.

Pas That's a good discount, and it's value season. Poly Cl.:cloud9:

I've stayed at Kidani but would rather stay at Jambo .... I like to be in the middle of the action. I still get over to Kidani since my new favorite place to eat is Sanaa! :thumbsup2 I love both pools but really like having the Mara so close at Jambo. I'm CHEAP and like to save my points so I only stay in the studio units. When I use to travel with my older daughter we stayed in all sizes of villas .... all the way up to the THV. Have you stayed at AK before? If not I really think you should spend at least a couple of nights there.

Don't you have an AP? If so do you have TIW? If yes to both I wouldn't add the DP. I liked the DP when it first came out but now not so much. I've found I come out better paying out of pocket and using TIW and my AAA card.

I never got the TIW we do more snacking than eating I guess  ugh!

WDTC update:

All this hemming and hawing I was doing could have been minimized had I called CRO earlier:rolleyes1

Savanna View Kidani is not available from 8/20-24 (with our discount) and I have to have an SV, so that's out of contention.

AKL/CL also isn't available.

CR/BLT isn't available.

So, out of my 4-nighter list, YC/CL is available - even Lagoon View:). This may be shaping up to be an Epcot/MK split again like spring break:scratchin

WL/CL is available from 8/24-9/1 so I was relieved to hear that:goodvibes
Kook...ya know I'll give you a full report, pictures included, of AKL CL...no worries!! We only made 3000 pictures on our last Disney trip:rolleyes:
I can't wait - I love your TRs and ALL 3000 photos!!!!

When we were walking around Pop DH mentioned it would be nice to check AKL out again together.
Helloooooo? What a great birthday present for your DH - a booking at AKL;). And, with CL, your SV is automatic:goodvibes

I only jog on a treadmill and even so, my IT Band on one leg was hurting more than usual so just like you, I started cross training on the elliptical. Today, I only jogged 4 miles then did 2 miles on the elliptical and no more IT Band pain:thumbsup2
