As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Well, I tried to switch my pop preferred room to POR, no availability for military or AP rate, only rack which is too much. Then tried to do FQ, same issue. Then thought I'd stay with pop. An hour later, decided on Shades of green! Saving $27/night over Pop! :cool1:

Hello all!
Hope everyone's planning is going well and that the ch-ch-changes are all for the better!

We are currently living the nomad lifestyle - staying at a hotel during the week and with my folks on the weekend. The move is feeling all sorts of real now... something about living out of a suitcase.

Hoping to post our TR in the next few days - will link it! Our entire group loved CSR (which is saying something since we all had different goals) and we had such a great location. DD7's only complaint is she preferred the 'hotel' layout of WL to the 'motel' style of CSR. Her words: "If we had the inside of WL with the rooms, beach, pool, food, and fun of CSR, it would be perfect."

Wishing everyone warm thoughts -- it's downright chilly out and making me miss that FL sunshine! :group hug: to all!
I do have to say, you have a great attitude about it all! I guess at this point there isn't much you can do to make it not happen. How are the girls doing with it all?

In other news, we have about a month left before the DVC company will get back with us about renting points. We do still have our Pop Reservation so if we don't get what we want it'll all be just fine. I'm just mainly curious!

We also went ahead and linked our SIL/BIL to our MDE accounts. I'm hoping the Disney magic takes away some of the hostility that my SIL has. We are spending good money to get down there so we will enjoy it! :cheer2:

So...I can get a woods view bunk bed room at WL with the Spring Offer or a Standard View Garden Wing room at CR with a special TA offer for the same price. DH, me, and DS(8) and DD(4). Which would you choose and why? :confused3

DH decided! CR Garden Wing it is. More space, large splash pad for the kids, and easy access to the monorail won him over! I'm excited to try a new resort! And he agreed to the 6 nights!

May 30-June 5 it is!

First SWW, first CR stay...yeah!! :-)

It's a blessing to get to be there regardless! It's nice of them to take her along with them. I think OKW seems really homey and serene. That would be nice after a long day in the parks. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!!

So just this weekend, I booked our May trip with my TA. I had a pin and when checking online, there were rooms available. Then when she went to go book, poof! pool view rooms in POR were gone (actually all rooms were gone under PIN offer) so I settled for a King under the kid siz epackage. This is my 4th trip and second for husband and daughter (she will be 2.5).

So I've been second guessing my decision since booking pretty much. Twice this week (since Sunday, lol) I've seen openings online but when my TA goes to change, nothing is available. She calls and is told nothing is available; not sure if it can only be done via phone call?

Anyways, I'm thinking of changing to POFQ but I'm afraid, that once again, nothing will be available when my TA tries to change. My pin expires on 01/30. Up until a couple of hours ago, I saw availability online with my pin offer. Should I book myself online and then my TA can cancel her reservation and take mine?

Thanks if you were able to keep up!

Pas, thanks for the well wishes!! Did a quick recap on the CL thread in response to trish's question about our stay. Because I posted on the CL thread, I forgot to post about AOA. I'm of the crazy opinion that, of the values, All Star Music is better than AOA. My oldest son said that's because I paid $67/night for it last summer and our AOA stay was three times the price on the night before an 8-night CL stay split between AKL, GF and Poly. OK, maybe that's true.

Because I'm a changer, I booked CR Garden Wing room for Easter Weekend, but then switched to Poly. We all had Poly fever following our Marathon Weekend stay, so we had to switch it to feel better about leaving Poly on Monday morning. I'll admit it did make our departure a little easier knowing that we'll be back in a few months. :) But I thought the CR Garden Wing was a great option - especially for the price - and my switch was entirely emotional.

pixarmom I was wondering if you found out anything about charging for luggage transfer?

1 week from today we check into por :cheer2:

I am a bit of a control freak. So I book myself. :rolleyes1

It's YOUR vacation so if your TA can't accommodate then cancel and book yourself. You should get the best hotel for the best price:cloud9:

Yay! So soon!

Yes, asked everyone I could! So our schedule was AOA for one night, AKL CL for one night, GF RPC for two nights and Poly CL for five nights. Each transfer went really well, and Disney made it very easy to accomplish. So the rumor you mentioned was something about luggage delivery between 5 and 7pm and a possible $25 charge to transfer luggage. I asked about this at each and every resort, and no CM - front desk, bell services or CL staff - had heard of this. I know that doesn't mean it's not happening in the future, but for now, it's the same as usual: no charge for luggage transfer (other than the tip that we give each CM who handles our luggage) and delivery between 1 and 3pm. In a few cases, especially with Bell Services CMs, I'd ask if they had heard anything about a change in policy and still nothing. Our luggage always arrived before 3pm and when we called for bell services, a CM was in our room to either pick up or deliver luggage within 10 minutes every time. It was fantastic!

Hi everyone:flower3:I have been reading this thread with great interest for a few weeks and found it informative and I have a confession to make... I am becoming a resort changer as I get older. Our first time was back in 2009 and after weighing up the pros and cons switched from Pop Century to Port Orleans French Quarter and never imagined doing a big change again . Then in 2013 we switched from a water view room at the Yacht Club to a standard CL room and we were blown away by receiving an amazing free upgrade to a room over looking SAB. Last year after a stressful period we both agreed we needed another trip back and booked a preferred room at Port Orleans Riverside. By Christmas the decision was under review again and after picking Old Key West only to discover all the rooms were sold out for the category we then went with another choice and with the price changes swinging in our favour decided to swap over to Wilderness Lodge in a woods view room since there are so many dining options close by, DS still has no idea;)We have made some plans for the days in the parks and rest days and days beyond Disney too and have taken a good look at the restaurant menus too and still have a few weeks to finalise the plans. Both our cats are booked into the cattery now too since places fill up quickly there'd we just need to sort out transport to and from the airport which is a worry at the moment but no doubt we will work something out before then.

Dividing our time pretty equally between MK and HS (for Star Wars Weekends) this trip. CR Garden Wing or BWI (Standard View for either one)? :confused3 Would be our first time at either one.

Thoughts?

I'd go with BWI under those circumstances. While it's so easy to get to MK from CR, I think I'd appreciate proximity to DHS for SWW even more. DHS may be swamped and the easy to/fro from there would be really important to me in that situation. Also, love the overall atmosphere at BWI and the easy access to all the Epcot area resorts and Epcot for dinner.

We just changed our CR garden wing reservation for Easter Weekend to Poly. Just had a great stay at Poly earlier this month for Marathon Weekend and they boys wanted to return. I'm missing the Epcot area, though, and would be prepared to suggest a switch to BC or BWI if it looks like the Poly pool will still be closed. We'll see . . .

Officially booked now at BWI. 5/30-6/5

Would've loved to do CL or a 1BR Villa, but that's quite a chunk of change...so, standard view it is...

Hi, all,
Just a quick note to say that after lurking and reading all of your thread (and the previous one, too) I've finally joined the Dis. I just wanted to thank you for all the advice I picked up from following your thread as I went constantly back and forth in between Coronado Springs, POR and POFQ...It's been so nice to see that I'm not the only indecisive one here.

On the 21st dd and I will be at MK in the afternoon then epcot that night. If you will be around let me know so we can say :wave2:

Then 22nd we go home:sad1:
Awwww, you should have PM'd me, I didn't see the post. We got to MK around 2:00ish. Darn . That woukd have been fun.
