Is anyone else following the corporate soap opera that has surfaced over the past few days regarding Olympus Japan, their fired CEO, and questionable payment and accounting transactions related to previous acquisitions?
I think you may be right, Joe. With all the things coming out about this, a shake up looks to be in order. I still love my Oly cameras though, but it may make me consider buying an E-P3, or its successor if there is one, sooner than I would have.

The more I read on this, the more it looks like the board was transferring assets (cash) out of the company to leave debt behind, currently about $9B.
I'm not seeing an Olympus in 6 months to a year that looks anything like the Olympus of today. I'll wait to see who goobles up their Imaging Division (Panasonic or Fuji?) or I may need to switch brands at some point.
