As Christians, Any WDW attractions to AVOID?

"She does not ride Universe of Energy because of Ellen."

Pu-leeze! Ellen isn't in Universe of Energy spouting her sexual preference!! If no one knew, no one would be able to tell from this attraction. Kids aren't going to know, unless they are told. The attraction, in and of itself, is enjoyable, and educational.

I guess Nemo is out, because Ellen does the voice of Dory (and does a GREAT job), is out of the question, as well? Guess The Living Seas is off the list, too.

To the OP,

You might want to consider posting your question on a bulletin board specific to your beliefs (if you haven't already done so). Perhaps there are people that have been so offended by what they've seen at Disney that they don't visit this site - KWIM?

I haven't seen Wishes on the list. The Blue Fairy and all.

I am only really puzzled by one thing. Festival of the Lion King????

I think it's because of the "circle of life" reference. It could be something else though.

If I were going to miss that many attractions, I would think of another place to go vacation. I am a Christian too, but am not offended by all those rides? At those prices at WDW, I guess my personal opinion, I would not go. I just could't pay that much money and walk pass sooooo many rides and attractions. I guess you kids are young still, but mine would be upset to pass so many things up. But, best luck to whatever you decide.

I would like to ask you to offer her a word of advice....

We are instructed to love the sinner and hate the sin....not the other way around. :love2:

I think the OP was just looking for some help and suggestions. She sounded very respectful and I hope we can all be the same to her!! :)

I am still confused... What is wrong with the Circle of Life? I thought it meant to be a good steward..

I'm not exactly sure. I saw this referenced either earlier in this thread or one that was moved to the community board. I thought the circle of life meant that as one person died, another is born. Maybe some people connect it with beliefs of evolution? :confused3 I always thought the circle of life was more of a positive thing. But, then again, what do I know? :teeth:

If you put this much effort into finding and avoiding things that offend you at the Happiest Place On Earth, how do you deal with the real world? Do you truly believe it's possible to get through life avoiding all things you disagree with and still stay sane and happy? I bet you could find things at your grocery store that offend you (deviled ham ayone?) - you gonna avoid that aisle?

You could have a wonderful, magical vacation at WDW if you allow other points of view into your life. You don't have to agree with them, but avoiding them is denying you a great, innocent family experience.

She sounded very respectful

Really? Hmmm...

I always thought that the circle of life had more to do with the food chain.

The antelope eat the grass, the lions eat the antelope, when the lions die they fertilize the grass to help it grow, etc., etc, etc.

Are there any rides in which evil/bad guy wins?

I think that the primary message at any of these rides/shows, etc. at Disney is that eventually good overcomes evil. Isn't that one of the core messages of Christianity, too?

I was thinking the EXACT same thing.

Ultimately, everything is about good vs evil. Almost all movies that are put out focus on this. And in the end, good will win.

Me too. Never saw anything more into it than that.

If someones belief system can be offended, shaken, or questioned because of simple exposure to a 15 minute theme park attraction, their faith isn't very strong to begin with.

my thoughts exactly!

We LOVE sorcerer mickey and have never seen him as more than a character of the parks. :

I was going to touch on this. Honestly, does a young child even look at Sorcerer Mickey and really see anything other that just Mickey in a blue hat? They don't see what it is really supposed to represent. And by the time they have learned this, they are old enough to fully understand that it isn't real!

What is this that is going on at The Living Seas that everyone is talking about?

This is how I took it as well....which I do believe the big Guy created that process! Could be wrong of course.

Tell you what doesn't sit well with my spirit...the lack of love in some of these posts.
