As Christians, Any WDW attractions to AVOID?

Well said Erika& Josh's Mom. That's me as I start down Main Street, in fact, that's where I'll be in five weeks at this time! As parents we try to raise our children to know the difference between right and wrong but to also be open minded and to think for themselves. We were at WDW in June during Gay Days, my kids didn't bat an eye. The only thing I found even mildly offensive was the shirts that some wore proclaiming Magic in the daytime, pleasure all night long! or something like that. But I also find some of the shirts that I see in Hot Topic offensive . I'm just thankful that we live so close to this magical place, this April will make 5 trips for us in one year! Ask our kids where they want to go and there is no hesitation. Not because of the witches, villains and sorcerers. BECAUSE OF THE MOUSE! We love you Mickey! See you soon.

Hello,

The thread about WDW attractions of interest to Christians inspired me to post a question I've been wondering about for a while.

I'm a newbie, and I'm taking my family to WDW in August. DH, myself and boys 5, 5, 2.

Are there any attractions that a young Christian family might want to avoid?

I'm already planning to skip the Haunted Mansion, Snow White's Scary Adventures and Fantasmic... am I missing something?

Serious responses from Born Again, Evangelical or Christian Fundamentalists would be appreciated. Not trying to offend, but I'm looking for responses from people who know where I'm coming from.

You asked if there were any rides at Disney that a Christian would avoid, absolutely not. I am a Christian, as is everyone in my family including my brother in law who is a minister. Nothing at Disney would be necessary for any Christian to avoid.

Now if you truely believe differently, then Yes I guess you are going to offend some because you have now stereotyped Christians into different categories, and that is something as a Christian I don't do and based on the responses of many it offends others.

My best suggestion is either ask on a forum where you are sure you are asking people with exact beliefs as yours or buy a very detailed guidebook, read the descriptions of the rides and make your own decisions.

I was in my kitchen listening to my Wishes soundtrack and realized that the OP may not want to see Wishes. It is hosted by a talking Cricket. We also see the fairy Tinkerbell fly. Of course there is Genie in there as well as the parts of Fantasia with Sorcerer Mickey.

Then the evil witch comes out and summons the magic mirror and you can see that image on the castle during that part.

There also is reference to the blue fairy who tells us we must all believe in our wishes for they are the power and magic within us all. And of course we wish upon on a star to make our dreams come true.

Just a friendly FYI- I've spoken to the OP and she has moved on from this thread.
It was not her intention to start such a debate and she did not want to add fuel to it by continueing to post and try to explain herself.

She had a few questions that she was wondering about and she said that some folks have PM her so she has received her answers.

I just thought I would let people know since some seem to be still answering her questions or posting to her on here.

I am so dissappointed by some of the responses to this post but not surprised. Talking about Christianity (Christ) evokes deep viceral responses in people. This is one of the reasons I know our Savior lives!!
