We are staying at the Boardwalk DVC Deluxe Studio in October. My wife just got a cpap machine and now there are 2 cpap machines in the household. We noticed in the pictures that one side of the bed has a night stand and the other side does not. We called around today and no one can give us a definite answer, can you request a night stand and does the bed move at all? I know that Publix with the grocery delivers extension cords so we can get one that way but we still need to fix this problem. Any suggestions?

They won't bring another night stand. DVC does not want guests moving the furniture.

Why not put one on the night stand and one on the floor? I have a night stand on my side but have mine on the floor. I also have an extension cord I picked up at the dollar store for traveling. Much cheaper than paying Publix to deliver one.

If they won't bring you a night stand, maybe request a shower seat? That is better than nothing to put it on. Or ask them if they have something else they could deliver that would raise the CPAP machine a bit off the floor for you - they may be able to come up with a good option.

My husband places his on a small step stool rather than on a nightstand at home and in the floor when traveling.

I don't think that there is enough room for another nightstand? Perhaps one of you could sleep on the pull out sofa and the other on the bed, sharing the one nightstand. Another option might be to put one cpap machine on the floor between the bed and the wall, if it will fit? or does the machine need to be elevated?

They ca't add furniture, and the bed won't move. Any attempt to do so will both injure you and cause damage to the unit.

Is your suitcase sturdy enough to hold it? I stand mine on it's side in a closet so it can function as a laundry basket/ shelf to hold my cosmetics bag. It has a flat sort of surface and on it's side is tallish.Could you do the same with your suitcase?

We always use our suitcase as a nightstand and have also used my DD step stool. I do not want or like my CPAP to be on a dirty floor, plus that takes away about 2' of hose when it's that low. Part of our normal packing is an extension cord as well as a power strip.

We're staying in a BWV studio for the first time in June, and I've been thinking about this myself. DH uses a CPAP so wants to be on the side with the nightstand, but I hate sleeping next to a wall. I did find some small folding tables, and even a little shelf for CPAP machines that slides under the mattress online but I'd rather not buy something and have an extra item to pack. I like the suitcase suggestion! I'm gong to suggest that to DH and see if he's agreeable.

thanks for some ideas, we like the luggage idea, I thought of the chair but I am not sure if it will fit next to bed, I will have to look for the shelf online to see if I can find the shelf idea.

I hope it works!!!

Don't have an extension cord delivered
No restrictions about packing one yourself
We never travel without one

I have used the suitcase idea in the past and it does work.
We have the same thing with our upcoming trip, 2 CPAPs (and a 3rd adult who needs one but refuses to be tested!) but we have 2 rooms so we will probably just split the CPAPs. We will also have O2 and an ECV so our rooms will be crowded with 3 adults, 2 kids and the equipment.

I know you said you wouldn’t want to pack extra, but how about one of those folding collapsible step stools? I don’t think I’d personally put a cpap machine on a suitcase - I’d be worried it would be too soft if it were laying down, and that it would fall off the edge if you had it on its side.
