I need help choosing between Artist Point and Whispering Canyon.

We will be having dinner at the WL on Friday, Sept 3 (Labor Day weekend). We've never seen the Lodge, so this meal is really an excuse for me to to ooh and ahh. Then, afterward, we'll take the boat to MK for Wishes.

Originally, I thought AP was the only table service restaurant there, and I figured we'd just have to bite the bullet and pay the $$$. Now I find out WC also has table service and their prices are a little better.

What are some other differences between the two? Which would be better for a party of 4? We are me, DH, DS12, and DD10.

TIA
Kelley

Considering you are with 2 children.............WC is the place to go.......AP is more of an adult restaurant, just based on the fact that the fare is more sophisticated. The atmosphere at AP is less "kid friendly" than WC. You'll be able to get ribs, chicken and steaks at WC, whereas, at AP, you will find Salmon, Buffalo and a great wine list..................Also, at WC the servers are "Performers" (let's just leave it at that), and at AP the Servers are just Servers................Both are excellent restaurants in their own way, though.....

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the children will be bored at AP where as at WC they will have a blast................

JMHO

Have fun with whatever you choose.........

I entirely agree, WC is more kid friendly than AP. Also you are coming from the parks, and AP is a restaurant that we normally dress up for, not go in park attire. WC is casual.

We'll be dining at one of them on September 5th when we check in to WL :)

Another vote for WC! It is great for families, the food is yummy and the atmosphere is a lot of fun!

I also recommend Whispering Canyon. Lively, fun atmosphere and better prices. We liked AP ok but if you can only go to one, go to Whispering Canyon.

AP is the "top tier" WL restaurant. Excellent food. Beautiful decor. Pretty high bill. But if you park clothes involve a collared shirt and it isn't 110 degrees (or if you throw a shirt into a locker to change into) and your kids are normally well behaved, it would be fine. You certainly won't have the only kids in the restaurant, or be the only people to come straight from the park.

WC is their mid tiered restaurant. Food about the quality of your local steak chain (Outback, Timberlodge around here). They serve a family style all you can eat BBQ meal that is pretty popular, or you can order off their menu. The real draw is the antics. The waitstaff interacts with you in a what some people consider amusing and others annoying manner. Its noisy and not a place for a quiet meal. But it can be a lot of fun, and there is ample food for the money.
