I have a difficult decision to make for my family's holiday trip to WDW. I have booked 2 signature restaurant and will need to cancel one of them. I can't decide which one of the two to cancel Artist Point or Citricos. This will be my In-Laws first major vacation in 30 years and to WDW! So I want to make this signature restaurant special for them. Please help me out!

Tough choice! They are both great restaurants but, if I had to pick one, I'd prefer to go to Artist's Point!

And I'd go with Citricos. The European influenced menu there is much more to my liking than the Pacific Northwest and I think Citricos has a nicer looking restaurant.

It really boils down to which type of cuisine you think they would enjoy the most. The food quality and presentation are at similar levels at these places.

They are both excellent, but I'd lean towards Artist Point.

We LOVED Citrico's so much that we made two more ADRs for it during our September trip. The food was top notch, the service was great. We enjoyed the BEST steaks we have ever had, and we had thought we had had great steaks before! (Four "hads" in one sentence, is that a DISBoards record?):rotfl2:

I also had to pick between AP and Citricos for Christmas dinner and I just thought the food choices appealed more to me so I chose Citricos, I think this was the right decision for me

I seriously can not say enough good things about Artist Point. The service was unbelievable...our waitress went so out of her way to ENTERTAIN my 15 month old son that I actually felt BAD. She went so above and beyond for us....bringing me recipes of a few dishes (i had expressed that I was interested), complimentary bowls of the mushroom soup for no reason at all...just to have us try it (boy was it amazing), never made us feel rushed (my DH and I were taking turns taking the baby out of the restaurant cause he was a touch disruptive and I would never want to alter another diner's experience at a fine restaurant..) She actually had them refire his dinner when he returned after a lengthy break...so he didn't have to eat a lukewarm piece of meat (he actually got a whole new piece of buffalo).
The manager came over to talk with us and was quite pleasant. He told me that they are very familiar with the DIS (DIS Unplugged had done a podcast the week before we ate there with a rather unfavorable review of AP) So I guess they were in damage control mode, but I was rather surprised that they even were aware of the podcast and us DIS'ers.
The food was unbelievable.. Best meal we've had on property hands down. But I have to admit, we haven't been fortunate enough to dine at Citrico's. I agree with the PP that said perhaps you should decide based on the menu.

Sorry for the long-winded response guys, but I just wanted to share with you all what a lovely experience we had at Artist Point. :goodvibes

Overall, I'd choose Citricos.

When Artist Point is good, it's great. But when it's bad.... good Lord! It's horrible! I've experienced great service and great food there. I've also had some of my worst Disney experiences there.

Artist Point is worth a try, but if you have a choice, go with Citricos... they're always good.

given that food is excellent at both, citricos (in my opinion) is a prettier restaurant and feels "more special"...artisits point has a "harder edge" to it
---depends on what type of atmosphere you prefer!

have a great evening!

I agree with what many people have said...it is completely a choice based on the vibe that you want for dinner.

As an option, perhaps you could take some time and go take a peek at the restaurants. I think that even by looking at the decor you would be able to get a sense of what the places are like. The food at both is amazing, and you are bound to have a wonderful time either way.

Good luck!

Food wise, sort of a choice between Buffalo Steak or Veal Shank. Citrico's is the better restaurant and has a better atmoshphere as well. Artist Point has a "Lewis and Clark" look to it..sort of like dinner with Ben and Little Joe at the Ponderosa.

funny you said that. Even though I love WL the restaurant choices remind me of exactlly that, I just didn't know how to verbalize it, thanks :) Uncleromulus

These days Citricos has the better food, IMO. As for ambience, Citricos was unrelentingly noisy the night we were there. Artist Point was quieter.
