This was the only signiture restaurant I could get and I am curious, will I be happy?:) I know the berry cobbler is good but I never ate their entrees :)
 
The buffalo was awesome. Not sure what makes you happy though.

I like any food that is well prepared and good quality. the CM also told me the buffalo is so good, just the though turns my stomach and that was what is turning me off to AP
 
There are alternatives to the Buffalo you can go with the salmon which is the resturants signature dish or the scallops are very good as well. Do not let you aversion to one plate spoil the resturant for you.

I've heard it's a great place to celebrate Christmas Eve dinner. We've not eaten there, but we like that kind of food. Buffalo is good, but I can only eat small portions. This will be at the end of our trip - so I'll probably be on the salad and bread diet.

AP is really good and has a great atmosphere. We ate there for the first time in March and really enjoyed ourselves. I had the scallops that were very good and my DH had the pork chops which he loved. We originally were not going to eat there again for our December trip, only because like to try different restaurants each time we go, but decided that we had to go there again. It is definitely worth going.
 
Artist Point at Christmas Eve is a wonderful place for dinner!!!

(Well, it's great any time of year, but Christmas Eve is particularly nice).

The food there is pretty basic, traditional American (whatever that really means) and yes, there are choices that one doesn't usually see (like the buffalo). The other choices, however are really very good and not over prepared like you will see in some other places. The emphasis is on good and fresh food, so the flavors are clean and crisp.

Also, the chef there is wonderful with special requests, so don't hesistate to ask them to change up a regular menu offering. Within reason, they can add, or delete just about anything to the given dish. Also, they will prepare something for you off menu, if they have the ingredients. ::yes::

For true special requests your best service comes with 24 hour notice.

Have a wonderful dinner and be sure to leave time to tour the resort if you are not staying there. It's very festive at Christmas time.
 
is one of my favorite restaurants at WDW. It's designed to be like the dining rooms at some of the great national parks - very open and inviting. The service has always been great and the food delicious.

If you don't want buffalo (bison really) then besides the salmon and scallops mentioned above, they usually have beef and pork dishes.

Buffalo is similar to beef but is much leaner so it needs to be ordered on the rare side usually. Ted Turner who has the largest private buffalo herds has even started a chain, Ted's Montana Grill, that serves buffalo as well as other entrees.
 
The smokey portabello mushroom soup is a meal in itself. I'll often have a bowl and dessert and am more than satisfied. And a glass of wine too, ofcourse!
 
We ate xmas eve dinner there 2007 and it was amazing! We got there early and just sat by the fireplace in the rocking chairs and took in the atmosphere..tree is beautiful. The whole resort just sing xmas! Dinner was wonderful..had mussel appetizer, cedar plank salmon and dh had buffalo steak , I had berry dessert and he had choc thing? Everything was delicious and service was superb! We even decided to take the boat over to MK after because it was a emh night and at 9:30 pm the crowds had gone(we never go to a make on xmas day). You will have a great experience and meal.

WE had dinner at Artists Point in October and enjoyed it. I had the salmon and DBF had the Buffalo. It was good, but not great. We probably won't order it again. We prefer juicier meats. The salmon was excellent as was the Smoky Portabella Soup. The berry cobbler was wonderful. We stayed at VWL for that trip and enjoyed the resort very much. You'll love the ambiance. Enjoy!
 
Their salmon is their signature dish and is wonderful, as is the berry cobbler. I think it would be a lovely restaurant to dine on Christmas Eve.
 
Thanks everyone for your import. I am getting some good feedback so eating there is getting a little more exciting. I love the hotel the atmosphere, the workers from the Mosekeeping tp the front desk and in between they are so nice, makes me feel like I am in a really plush resort:)
 
I would not normally order soup, but I must tell you that mushroom soup is to die for. I tasted some that my mom had ordered and I wanted to eat the whole thing! It was not your normal mushroom soup! She also had a marvelous cheese plate there.
