Article about Pete Werner

I don't think this is the appropriate board for that- nothing to do with DVC.

Wow. What an amazing glimpse of real life behind the Disney Magic. Pete has certainly had his trials (who hasn't), but his passion and love of Disney has given us these boards. Rarely a day goes by that I don't stop and see "what's new". Thanks, Pete, for your dedication to creating a wonderful fan site, and for your loyalty and support of the Disney fan.

Wow..interesting article..nice that our own HydroGuy and my fellow Sorcerer TJ got mention (and it was more like 75 Sorcerers not 50, and I never saw one whining about Press). I guess we are hard core, but really, I don't think we're so extreme (DVC AP and D23 aren't really extreme are they?) I'm happy to have D23 and I don't think it takes anything away from fan sites, and I think it's great when a big company pays attention to what is going on with their supporters.
Thanks Pete for this site!

Absolutely magical piece about a guy who is passionate about what he does - but more importantly honest in what he does & says

I read Pete's story a few years ago and I'm still amazed and moved every time I read something about it. I'm sure we all have our "how Disney affected my life" stories, but his got to me. Yes, that's Disney magic going on, and I don't care how corny I sound.

Wait - are we reading the same article? I thought it was fairly unflattering.

Thanks so much for sharing that.. Just so happens it contains some information that I need..:thumbsup2

That was a very strange article... not very well-written, either (it was all over the place). I kind of wish I hadn't read it.

I thought the same thing. After the first couple of pages I thought "what am I reading?" Nothing against Pete, but that was some poor writing.:confused3

I think the article would have been easier to read in it's original format. Clearly, part of it was originally a sidebar.

I agree. Terribly, written (as someone else said it was all over the place) and makes Pete sound like a jerk. Not a good article at all :confused3

I'm wondering if, as someone else suggested, part of the problem with it being all over the place, is due to formatting that is lost from the original print version.

Of course, even if that were true (and the article is so bad, that I cannot imagine that it is the entire problem), it is still poor editing on the part of the paper - they should have checked their online version before it was posted.

And, yes, it does not paint a flattering picture of Pete at all.

But a great article to use for "research"!

I guess if it had some info or fact in there that you wanted to know it'd be OK. If it got the facts correct then the way it was written or it being unflattering would not matter, right?

Oops, sorry. I just reread your answer and I think the bolding and underlying tricked my old eyes...I thought that was a question mark instead of an exclamation point.

I agree, poorly written (and/or formatted) and not flattering.
