In the beginning stages of planning a Jan 2018 trip with our kids and grandkids. We are looking at AofA. We have one family with 2 girls (6&4) and one with a boy (6). My question is does it make sense for one family to stay in the Little Mermaid area and one to stay in Cars room? I see that they are practically at opposite ends of the resort.

Thanks for any advice. Haven't been to Disney in years and after all the reading I've done -- really feel like a total newbie!

Why not do the ling king if being close is the priority?

I walked the grounds for my stay and its fun to do but to HAVE to do that walk to visit each other would not be very convenient.

Some of the LK and LM areas are pretty close together.

I wouldn't do it. But if you don't mind a potential ten - fifteen minute walk from room to room, go for it.

I would do it. You are still at the same resort. You can stay at a resort like Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom and wind up with rooms really far away. We didn't find the resort to be as spread out as everyone said. We enjoyed walking to the different sections. If being close is really important than maybe pick Lion King over Cars, but I don't think it us a big deal.

Keep in mind the Mermaid room is a standard hotel room and the Cars room is a suite! If you all want suites I would just stay in Nemo and visit the other sections.

Thank you! Don't know how I missed that! I was figuring a 6 yr old boy would prefer Cars over mermaids!
