Has anyone ever experienced this with on-site hotels? I just called and the travel line and it is closed, so I called and asked at the DLH and she said generally they will not change it! Right now I have the winter rate and the AP rate totally dropped as of tonight!

Thoughts????

I made reservations last saturday with a pin for a the GC. The CM told me if the rate dropped, I could call in and they would honor the new rate. This was not an AP rate, just 35% off pin code I used....I hope that helps!

They have changed rates for me for our trip last November without a problem twice in the GCH, so I really have no idea what the DLH is talking about.

I first had the usual 10 percent off AP rate, then the special AP rate announced and then the Fall Getaway rate. They didn't even charge me a fee.

That response sounds very un-Disneylike [at least when I consider all the room revisions I've done in FL]...call back again....

I will call the "reservation" line in 15 min when they open! She said something about it being because we arrive today!

Unless you have booked a package with or without tickets included (which is handled by the Walt Disney Travel Company), I have always found the folks in Reservations to be quite accommodating when I have made changes.

One year - I think it was for my reservation in December 2008 - I first changed the hotel I was staying in (I went from GCH to PPH), I then changed the dates of my visit (made it one week earlier than my original existing reservation), added an extra night onto the beginning of my stay, and I applied an AP to it to get an AP rate, which lowered the price dramatically from what it originally would have been. I did all of this in 2 or 3 different phone calls! I am surprised they didn't shoot me! Not once was I charged a penalty fee (because I went through Room-Only/Central Reservations and not the WDTC) or told I couldn't do it. They were very pleasant. I was always told that you could reserve a room and if a PIN or a great AP rate came along, you could apply the discount and change the reservation. It's only when you have a package and deal with the WDTC (even if you don't know you are dealing with the WDTC) that fees start appearing and things gets a bit trickier. As long as you go through Room-Only/Central Reservations, you should be able to make those changes you need all the way up until 5 days before arrival.

Now, of course, this is all subject to change. DLR reservations may decide to change their policy at some point and not make it so easy to revise existing reservations. So what was once the case may not always be the case.

Oh, you're arriving today? I didn't see that in your thread title (I totally skipped over it!!) when I posted a minute ago. Yep, that makes all the difference. You can make all kinds of changes through Room-Only (not the Travel Co.) up to 5 days before arrival. And if you are going through the Travel Co. for a package, they don't honor AP rates, to my knowledge, and are much more strict with their penalty fees if you try to revise anything.

Well the good news and the bad news....I know someone who works there, so I had asked to try very hard to get me a new room....SOOOOo they can't lower my price now because he had upgraded me for FREE to a high level view room! Fingers crossed it is a renovated room!
