Arriving late....should I NOT use tags and get my luggage myself?

If a Guest arrives at the Welcome Center with their luggage it is not "checked in" and tagged and sent to the room. Once it is removed from baggage claim by the Guest it becomes their responsibility. The Welcome Center will issue paperwork to collect non-DME tagged bags at baggage claim (that's what the Cast Members you seen at baggage claim are doing) if the Guest wishes to have them collected and delivered to their room but did not attach DME tags for whatever reason.

There is always the dilemma that if you go to the ME welcoming area first (lowest level A side) they must hold the bus longer if they want to send you by yourself to get the baggage and the carousel is on the B side.
I'm not sure what that means. They might want to send me by myself to go get my baggage when I'm using ME and don't want to handle my own luggage??? That's one of the biggest perks for me.. traveling with 3 kids and no DH to help with luggage on this trip. I'm not going to go get my baggage myself. LOL

But anyway, it just seems like to me that if more and more people are handling their own luggage, it's not just a delay for themselves- it is for everyone else on the bus also. I'm fairly sure that part of the reason they don't just transfer all the people's luggage to the bus they are using and give you your luggage at the resort when they drop you off is that it will add extra time to EVERYONE'S transportation time from MCO to their resort. I know that's one of the most time consuming things using Mears in the past... loading luggage, getting it back off at each stop for those getting off, etc.

It may be helping you get your luggage faster- but meanwhile everyone is delayed getting to their resort (possibly) because of it. That's all I'm saying.

Bibbidy.....
What time and day are you arriving?
I don't mean to offend you.....nor do I mean to delay your arrival to the resort......
But we do need our luggage before the morning and I don't want to interupt our night's sleep.....
so if by some chance you are at the bus stop.....go right ahead and tell the driver to leave so you won't have to wait.

I only meant....that I don't mind having to wait for the next bus by waiting another half hour. I will gladly wait for the next bus so I am not inconveniencing anyone.
I don't want anyone else to have to wait because of us.....

For arrivals into Orlando after 10 PM you need to go to the ME area as quickly as possible since this is after hours and you don't know how long they will be expecting you.
Certainly you are not saying they would leave without us!!!! :sad2:
They have all the flight info and will know if flights are delayed, etc....
And I am sure they allow plenty of time for everyone to make "potty" stops, etc ..... and yes....even have time to grab their own luggage!
I have not seen any posts about anyone getting left at the airport because they had a late flight and did not catch the bus on time! :earseek:

Cindyfan- I sure hope you are right! I also didn't think I'd have to race to the counter because we're coming in on a late flight!

Huh? I'd still be waiting if I told the driver to go leave without me- I'd be waiting for another bus, wouldn't I?

Ohhh, I see what you were saying now. I didn't know that's what you meant- that sounds fine to me and very considerate of others. :)

(ps. my comments weren't just about YOU. I was meaning like in general... like "what if" many others started doing that like you... getting their own luggage and bringing it with them. I can't imagine how it would keep them on the same schedule and NOT lengthen the trip for everyone, if lots of people started bringing their own luggage that had to be loaded up and unloaded when the people were dropped off. It HAS to take more time for that-than just people walking off the bus. I meant in general if everyone started doing that though- not just you. :) )

I totally agree .... 100% :goodvibes
But I wonder how many people actually fly in that late at night. :confused3
Any time we have taken the late evening flight....it was never full.

I still haven't decided whether to use the tags.....
If it is a pain to walk all over the airport....I won't.
But it seems that we are right there....on the "A" side already. And we will have to pass the baggage claim on the way down to the Welcoming center.
Seems kind of silly to "walk past" our luggage and then have to get up in the middle of the night for them to bring it to us.

I think I am putting too much thought into this....

A very good friend keeps telling me....."don't sweat the small stuff!' and this really is small stuff.

YAHOO......JUST 6 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!
