Arrival Gift Basket Ideas from Mickey!

I found them at my local supercenter (Meijer's) in with the summer items. They were only about $2, and I thought they'd be cute to use instead of just a plain bubble bottle.

The lanyard vary based on how fancy they are. You can get plain ones with no pins for $6. If you get a starter set with pins, they run $25 at World Of Disney. Mickey Ears from World Of Disney are $7. You have to take them to The Days Of Christmas store to be embroidered. GOH badges are $6. The blue autograph books with Mickey and friends on the front are $6.95. The princess autograph book is $10.95.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Feralpeg for the info!! Very helpful. I'm still trying to figure out what type of box i'm going to order from you for November (you have so many wonderful ideas). I just noticed the picture of the box in your signature.....it looks like it has more merchandise than candy. Are you able to do boxes w/ some merchandise too??

I have just come back from a day off of DIs shopping! Kmart in St. Louis is carrying a limited selection of kids jewelry--stretchy bracelets and some necklaces with either Mickey, Pooh or the princesses.

WalMart and KMart both have a ton of Dis sunglasses to choose from--relatively cheap--about $5 or $6/pair.

I just ordered my autograph books and pressed penny book from giftsofalifetime. I compared their rates to the laughingplacestore and there prices were significantly lower. The regular autograph books were $8.75/piece and the laughing place store wants $11 for them. I haven't received them--but you get an instant confirmation via e mail and it all seems very reliable. Lets hope.

I didn't make it to the mall for Dry Ice of Claires--but am heading there this weekend and will see.

I saw on another thread that you can buy a plain lanyard at Office Depot or some similar store and then decorate it as you wish. I guess you could get some of that puffy paint from Michaels and put your child's name on it, or Mickey ears or something.

Finally--I am trying to include flip flops for my dd. Where I live, people buy the plain plastic ones at Wal Mart for like $2 and then tie little ribbons around the straps that go in between the toes....I am looking for Disney ribbons--if I can't find any, you can also use Dis fabric cut into strips. The idea is that you just keep tying little strips in knots around the fabric straps until you can't fit any more--and it makes this darling little pair of shoes.

You can get a ton of Dis fruit snacks at Shop N Save--princesses, pooh, I think Mickey--also at Wal Mart. If you go to the Disney store, they have some larger snacks for around $1. They had suckers, and this funky marshmallow stick things at mine....but they are huge and I'm not sure how your kids are, but if I gave my kids that much sugar at one time, they could go on Space Mountain without the roller coaster.

More ideas any body? I have two more months to shop!

Our 1st trip to DW is in May and I bought some fleece (with disney characters) on sale last month and made both my SDD and DS fleece blankets and travel pillows for their carry-on bags. I bundled the blanket, pillows and water bottle together with new fanny packs that had glows sticks and rain ponchos inside and stuck them inside their travel bags. The week before we leave I will give it to them to start packing.

I also made my DS a disney journal and SDD a disney stationery pack (to write to her friends) that I will give them when we arrive at the Resort (if they behave on our flight to Orlando).

I love all of your ideas, I may just have to do a some more planning!

If I were to send a box down with a gift basket in it, do you think a CM would put it in our room prior to check in? We are celebrating our 25th anniversay during our trip in May, and I am going to purchase Stephen the Richard Petty Driving Experience. I am putting together a gift box with racing/Disney themed stuff, but will have no way to get it into the room prior to arrival. Do you think someone would put it in for me if I put a note on the box, and then call down prior to our arrival?

Okay, I was going to get the boys those Mickey ears hats, but I'm thinking they wouldn't block the sun, much. Does anyone know if there are baseball hats with Mickey ears on them? I thought I would have the stewardess on the airplane bring them to the boys prior to landing.

Wow, this is a great thread!
On our next trip we are staying at CBR and I wanted to have a basket from Disney Florist delivered but now I think I'll make it myself. We are driving so I'll just put it in a bag in the trunk and DD will never know it's there. She'll be so excited when we arrive she won't even wonder what I'm bringing in the room and when we leave our room to explore the grounds I'll act like I forgot something and go back in and put the basket on the table, ta-da.
Since we are staying at CBR I'm going to use a sand bucket instead of a basket. That will be so cool. Thanks for all the great ideas. :)

Maybe You Could Call Disney Mechandising For Some Items Such As Earrings And Hairbows. The Number Is 407-363-6200.

This thread helped me decide what to do for DD who will be 6 when we go but any ideas on what to do for DD who will be 15 almost 16 (and too cool for Disney) when we go? I'm thinking either cash or Disney cash and snacks, maybe a villian beanie. What kind of container would you put it in?

Hmmm. This is a toughie--and I'm interested in seeing other replies since I will some day soon have older DD's and DS's and I just can't fathom giving up the trips to DW.

I think Disney Dollars are a must so she can go shopping. Does she have an Italian charm bracelet? They are really popular here in the Midwest and you can get charms from Disney Direct--they have tons of villain charms if she likes those. I know its not Disney, but maybe a cool pair of sunglasses, suntan lotion for her days at the pool. Snacks are a great idea -- her favorite candy or cookies....just for her. Maybe some teen magazines for her to read at night or at the pool. A CD for her personal CD player. A cute new lip gloss or pink nail polish for the toes? Maybe you could stick everything in a cute pool bag or tote--Target and WalMart have some really cute ones--and they are cheap so if she hates it you haven't lost that much.

I apologize if these ideas are lame--my DD is only 7 and my recollection of what I liked as a teen are rather dim. Ahhhh....my long forgotten youth!

Have a great time!

Those ideas for a teen are just fine. Also for a bag and shoe idea they had matching bags and flip flops at Payless shoes.

:earsgirl: I am a Mouseketeer. WhooHoo. :cheer2:

Sorry, just noticed that.

Thanks liveforthemagic. They are some really good ideas. This will be our 8th time going but the last time DD was 12 and still liked Disney (not that she doesn't like Disney anymore but you know how teenagers are). She's never really said she likes the villians but I think she will be able to relate more to a villian beanie then a Princess. ;) I really like the idea of a beach bag and putting lotion, sunglasses, Disney Dollars, lip gloss, and magazines. Along with candy, cookies, chips etc... Again, thanks for the great ideas. :)

This may have been mentioned above but there is a Hidden Mickey Book....it maybe something "cool" for the kids who think they are getting too cool for Disney! :)

If you have a Claire's at your local mall they have Princess things, earings, braclets, hair etc. At least the outlet one in Dawsonville, GA did a few weeks ago.
