We are driving down for our trip in Oct. It will be a little over an 8 hour drive for us (DW, DD6 DS8 and me) and my parents are flying down. We plan to meet up at the hotel, AKL, and I had planned on all of us going to downtown disney for some shopping and eating at T-Rex. Now I'm thinking of just hanging out at the resort, resting and trying BOMA. If there's any ADR's availalbe. Last I checked there were a couple times available. My only problem is the kids and I can be picky eaters so I'm afraid BOMA may not be for us. Anyways I guess my question is, Downtown Disney and T-Rex or Hang out at resort and do BOMA's? Thanks!!!

The childrens' pod at Boma is very good and your children shouldn't have any problems. You, as an adult, may have trouble finding things that you like unless you are okay paying that price and then eating the offerings from the childrens' pod. As an adventurous eater, I enjoy Boma, but my picky eater friends hated the place when we took them there. Even the meats had spices they did not care for, the soups and vegetables were strange for them. They were fine with the salad bar fixings, fresh fruit and desserts.

I cannot think of a better way to start your trip by going over to DTD and eating at T-rex. I have to say, I stay at POR and the first thing I do is go over to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch and to wander around DTD; I take the water taxi over.

I would just have the hubby run in and check-in for ya; and head right over to DTD and eat dinner.

Remember, if you try to get ressies online with Disney, they only hold a few tables. It is best to call them directly, especially if you are arriving on a weekend - they get very busy.

As mentioned above Boma's flavors aren't for everyone.

They use many "sweet" spices, such as cinnamon and use fruits in alot of things.

DH is an adventerous eater, I am not and even he didn't like it. Too much sweetness to everything, including the meat. The strip loin was rubbed with cinnamon....the veggie dishes, potatoe dishes...soups you name it they were all sweet tasting.
Now I am a sweet tooth but it was to much for me. I like my "dinner" to taste like dinner not dessert.

Now all the food was good, but we just didn't like the taste. So if these spices sound good to you then you will enjoy it, but if sweetness isn't for you I would pass.

Have a good trip!

After an 8hr drive, all I would want to do is keep it low key and stay near my room. My vote is for Boma and maybe a swim!:thumbsup2

I am sure that there have been the pickiest of pickiest eaters at every restaurant in Disney, and they will have something for your little ones to eat.:goodvibes
