arrival and birthday surprises

We will be down for my DD's and dad's birthdays as well as my sister's graduation. I am looking for ideas for 1. Arrival gifts
2. celebrations throughout the stay

we aren't interested in a cake as we will have SO much food anyway. Other ideas would be great. Last time we went I just took my own welcome basket and my DH distracted the kids while I set up. At 9, I'm not sure that will work

They do have a list of arrival gifts that you can get, just check out the floral and gifts page on Disney's website. Just know that it will not be in your room as soon as you check in, it will be delivered later. I think that most of what they offer is way over priced, and you can do better just bringing it down yourself.

We have been in WDW on my DD's actual birthday several times.
Some things we have done to make the day even more special:

* Illuminations Celebration Cruise (also had a personalized cake delivered to the boat)
* manicure at Perwig Salon at the Beach Club
* Character breakfast
* Character dinner
* rented boats at the Poly marina
* rent a boat at CBR resort marina
* rented Waverunners at the CR marina
* rented a Surrybike at CBR (if we were to do this again, we'd do it at the Boardwalk.)

If you're going in the winter, you could book a sleighride. We've done that at WL on Xmas Even, and that was very nice!
