Around What Time Will Our Stateroom Be Ready?

We are leaving Sunday on our first ever cruise, a 5-night Western Caribbean on the Magic. Our boarding time is 2:30 pm. Around what time can we expect our room to be ready? Around what time can we expect our bags to arrive in our room? I'm packing a carry on with all our pool stuff and things we might need when we first board, but I'd love to have an idea of what to expect. Thank you!:earsboy:

Rooms are typically ready around 1:30. If you don't board until 2:30, you can go directly to your room, most likely. What you actually have is a Port Arrival Time. I'd suggest arriving at any time after 12:30 for quickest boarding.

Bags arrive anywhere from 2:00-7:00. Usually around 4-5ish.

Thanks Princess Schmoo. Do you have to leave your bags when you board (so they can be looked through or whatever), or can you bring them to your room if it's ready?

Your checked bags must go through an xray security screening. Your carry on bags you can take with you. The security screening machine for carry on bags can only accommodate that size bag (like an airport screening machine). Larger bags must go through the bigger scanner (behind the scenes).

You actually hand over your larger (checked) bags to the porters before you enter the terminal. The next time you see them will be at your room later that afternoon. One note on this - they are delivered TO your door, not inside the room. We generally check back about every 1/2 hour until they all arrive, so that they aren't sitting out in the passageway any longer than necessary.

Your room will be ready when you board! You can go right to it. Your "checked bags" MAY also be there (waiting for you outside the room), as they arrive throughout the afternoon up until perhaps 5 pm. So, unless you want to eat, you can go right to your room and change to swimwear. Nice, huh?

They made an announcement on our 2/17/17 cruise that the rooms were ready at 1:30 so you should be good to go when you board.

Thanks all! I'm trying to relax and go with the flow, but I'm a control freak at heart and want to be able to go in and see my room right away. :thanks:
