Arndt Photography-has anyone had problems?

I have decided that I'm going to look into Arndt Photography for our Wishes wedding on 6/3/11.

Our original opinion was to just go with Disney, because if there is a problem, we can handle it with Disney directly. However, with an outside vendor, we would have no ability to handle problems, since we live in IL.

I've read about Arndt Photography from the boards (thanks to all :worship:), and I heard about them on a podcast, and it seems that everyone is having great experiences.

However, I would like to hear from anyone that has had a not-so-great experience, and how it was handled.

Anything will help, I need a variety of opinions to help us decide.

It also helps that their 10 hour package is 1/2 the cost of Disney's Wishes Enchanted Rose package.

What a smart question to ask!

I only have positive feedback to share regarding David and Vicki. We took our engagement pics with them in June and they are shooting our wedding this September. I think their Facebook page tells it all - they treat their brides (and grooms, too) like friends, as well as customers. I picked them based on reviews on this board and for their photojournalism style, NEVER expecting to like them as regular people. My fiance feels the same way. When I think of new photo ideas for the wedding, I pass them along to Vicki and she ALWAYS replies. It makes me feel good, not that I'm bothering them (which is sometimes how I feel when I email my DFTW planner with similar types of requests). I hope you find my reply helpful, even though it wasn't what you asked. Best wishes to you!

We booked David and Vicki for our Wishes wedding this December 15th. Vicki was extremely prompt returning my emails and made me feel extremely comfortable right from the start.

We had our engagement shoot (which is included in the package price) with them 3 weeks ago and they were amazing! We spent 3 straight hours taking photos and they were so much fun to work with. They truly love what they do and it shows in their work and demeanor. I'm a huge fan of theirs and actually talk to Vicki quite frequently! (If you talk to her, tell her Crystal said hello! LOL)

I can't tell you how highly I recommend them. They truly are a joy to work with!

HTH! :goodvibes

I too have booked The Arndts for my wedding and engagement pictures. I live in Orlando and met with several of the local photographers and looked at albums. Pictures are very important to me. They made me and my DF feel very confortable and added their creative ideas to fit with our theme and our vision for our wedding day.

Whenever I have a question about anything concerning my wedding I usually send them an e-mail and Vicki gets back to me right away. They both worked for DPS for about 12 years. They photographed the weddings together as a team and have done several of the couture weddings by request. I feel confident that I'm getting two very talented photographers. Their albums are the same quality as the ones you see in Francks. I think Vicki told me they use the same album company as Disney uses but the Arndt's are doing the designs themselves. Have you read their "about us" section on their website? It's impressive.:goodvibes

Not sorry to say but you probably won't find any negative feedback. :rotfl: They are AMAAAAZING!! :goodvibes They did family portraits for my family last January and we couldn't have been happier with both of them and the pictures. I cannot wait for my wedding!! I just know my pictures are going to be amazing! Aaaand I cannot wait to give Vicki a hug, she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! :worship:

I recently started a thread a few days ago about adding DPS to our DP anyway in that thread I was refered to the local photographers bc they could be cheaper...I contacted a few and decided on the Ardnt's. The pictures on the facebook...Vicki is great in emails...she answers so quickly and is so nice. She kinda makes me feel warm and fuzzy...

Not one single problem with them!!! They did my Disney wedding back in 2007 and we just did a Trash the Dress session in April. They are so much fun to work with. They absolutely love what they do and it shows in the photos. They are a photographers for life! :worship: Hope this helps.

We did our engagement pics in January with David and Vicki and they did our rehearsal and then wedding in May. Feel free to look at the pictures on their site - it's the McKittrick-Bolton wedding May 27, 2010.

My DH and I absolutely adore them :cloud9: and you will not go wrong working with them. They did a beautiful job and are so much fun to shoot with. If you're going with them, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. :thumbsup2

You looked beautiful! You should do a PJ.

Yes I don't think you will get any neg. about them!!

We had them for our epics in April and WE LOVE THEM!!!:love: We booked them already for our June 2012 wedding and our TTD session!!

My friend (MOH) got married this June and she had an issue with her phography 2 weeks before her wedding date and she luckly wanted D & V and luckly they were available for her date. She LOVES them also:love:

DF's Family is planning on doing a family portiat seesion with them in Dec, also!!

We will be using them for anything in the future we need them for!!!

Sorry:confused3... I also can't come up with one negative thing about the Arndt's! These two people are absolutely awesome! We had our family photos taken in early July and our portraits are super fantastic and beautiful! I received the recommendation for them here on the Dis and immediately checked out their website. I knew at that moment that I needed our first family photos taken by them! Our children are both adopted and we had yet to have our professional photos taken together! We have a four year old daughter from China and an 18 month old son from Taiwan. We had our portraits taken at the Poly beach. It was VERY hot, my kids wanted to play in the sand, watch the boats... do anything except get their photos taken! Somehow David and Vicki took the most beautiful shots of my kids and our family... 171 of them in 2 hours! I cannot recommend them enough and certainly believe that they would do everything in their power to make your day and your photos all that you ever dreamed!:goodvibes

I haven't used them but I'm not impressed at all with their photos. I'm hoping to use Roots or Misty Miotto, they both show that they know their equipment and don't have to use a lot of post processing, along with some other details that the arndt's portfolio lacks skill in. :goodvibes

I don't think that the Arndt's don't know how to use their equipment or lack skill in their photography at all. Otherwise they would not be asked to do the Disney couture weddings or Disney executive weddings. The Roots and Misty and the Arndt's all have different styles and creativity in their photography, and everybody has their own personal preference as to what they would like for their wedding. But that does not mean they lack skill, especially the Arndt's. However, I will say that I like the pictures posted on their Facebook profile better than the pictures on their actual website, as you can get a better idea of what they can do because there are a lot more pictures.

I completely agree! The Arndt's are incredibly skilled at what they do. Photography is a matter of preference. I personally looked into the Roots before I looked into the Ardnts was wasn't overly impressed. It's all about what you're looking for!

It's just my 2 cents, you don't have to agree. I'm just extremely picky, and to someone who doesn't shoot I can see how the photography probably looks great. Regardless of style, there are basic rules to follow and the Arndt's aren't proficient or consistent in following them. (limb chops, good compositions, exposures/ skin tones). However looking at their FB page, some of their latest stuff is worlds better than the website stuff (which is extremely annoying with the p o r n-esque music) I apologize if I was out of line posting my opinion on their work:goodvibes

I agree it depends on your preference of Photography and your opinion. I KNOW that D & V are AMAZING!! They are both wonderful and great photographers!

:mad:That's your opinion on the Arndt's but don't bash:mad: them about not being knowledgeable with their equipment or post processing if you haven't experienced them in a professional way. They do post processing like all other photographers do!!!

Your intitled to your opinon but, not to say something negative about them. As many Disbrides and others love them and know that they have excellent experience with thier equipment and taking wonderful pictures!!

WE LOVE:love: DAVID AND VICKI AND I KNOW EVERYONE ELSE DOES and know there is nothing negative ever about them or the experience you recieve with them.

I'm glad you love them :) I'd delete my comments if they weren't quoted.

If you ARE a photographer, tell us your name and show us your work.

This thread is asking if you have had a problem with the Arndts and if so how was it resolved. The Arndts have been around for a long time and their work is highly respected in the Disney Community.

When I told my wedding planner I wasn't using Disney Photography but was going with David and Vicki Arndt, they said I made a great choice.

David and Vicki have worked with DFTW for a long time. They both have degrees in their field and have won awards. I think they probably know exposure and composition. Like everyone else has said, Photography is personal preference. It's art, but you don't win awards by not know your equipment.

When I met with them, as I did other photographers in the area, I loved their albums and their work. They have done The Disney Couture Weddings and even have pictures of the brides with David Tutera. I signed a contract with them and they DO edit all the photos but I love their style of editing. It's not overly saturated like so many that I've seen. It's soft and romantic and you get a lot of photojournalsim with both of them shooting.

The Roots edit everything too. It's not a negative thing.:rotfl:
