Arndt Photography-has anyone had problems?

If you ARE a photographer, tell us your name and show us your work.

This thread is asking if you have had a problem with the Arndts and if so how was it resolved. The Arndts have been around for a long time and their work is highly respected in the Disney Community.

When I told my wedding planner I wasn't using Disney Photography but was going with David and Vicki Arndt, they said I made a great choice.

David and Vicki have worked with DFTW for a long time. They both have degrees in their field and have won awards. I think they probably know exposure and composition. Like everyone else has said, Photography is personal preference. It's art, but you don't win awards by not know your equipment.

When I met with them, as I did other photographers in the area, I loved their albums and their work. They have done The Disney Couture Weddings and even have pictures of the brides with David Tutera. I signed a contract with them and they DO edit all the photos but I love their style of editing. It's not overly saturated like so many that I've seen. It's soft and romantic and you get a lot of photojournalsim with both of them shooting.

The Roots edit everything too. It's not a negative thing.:rotfl:

I don't need to prove anything, if you don't like my 2 cents then ignore it :) I didn't say editing was the issue, but poor editing was. Anyway, I'm done defending my opinion, you are entitled to yours just as much as I am to mine. Happy planning everyone!:goodvibes

But when you say something neg about another photographer that you haven't worked with or experienced it makes others on the boards mad. Yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion on these boards and it shows in every thread why people pick a certain photographer(s) to shoot their special day but no one ever says anything neg about the other photographers that they compete with.

All the photographers have different style and certain abilities that some like and some don't. You can express what you like about the photographers you choose but not what you think the other photographers make lack in your opinion.

THANK YOU:worship:

You're welcome Amanda! I'm only stating the facts. If you read what she said and then go to The Arndt's website, there is nothing with limbs cut off, or bad composition etc. All of their work is beautiful and that's why everyone on here (except her) loves them. Look at ALL the other comments.:goodvibes

Belle2B, who won't say who she really is, but leads you to believe she is a photographer and has a lot of knowledge of photography obvously doesn't know anything about photography, art or graphic design. She wasn't just giving her opinion. She was making up things that simply aren't there, but everyone can go to their website and facebook and see that for themselves.

I'm so happy I was able to book the Arndts because I know it's hard to get on their calendar, but I would never put any of the other photographers down on here. Especially anyone that so many people love, and love to work with. That is not what these boards are about and no one on here condones that behavior. It wasn't just an opinion, it was just being rude and stupid.

I'm not a fan of their work. I certainly wouldn't say their photos are terrible, I just prefer a more artsy style. I don't think they are worthy of bashing though; they seem like great people who work hard to please their clients.

HA!

i thought i was the only one not thrilled by the way this thread was titled. i hope you can find ways to get your questions answered and find more opinion without the negative slant? ie - "the arndts - what did you think?" as a title and then perhaps ask someone to DM you with the nitty gritty if there is any, people do communicate this way frequently and folks are happy to share their opinions and experiences that way i find. i think to ask outright about negatives and to diss folks whom you clearly don't seem all that interested in using anyway is kind of harsh, and many vendors do read these boards. i don't diss anyone's right to an opinion or seeking specific info, but there are probably more than a couple ways to do it and be polite!

good luck in your search! we personally can't wait to work with the arndts again after our e-pics - especially because they are really warm and fun! good luck!

this thread reminds me of something that would go on on the theme parks board...I always say how safe and positive the weddings and honeymoone forums is in comparison...call me naive...but I like the sweet comfort here...and not that I am saying that we can't share our personal opinions...I just wish this area could be sweet and positive...just my two cents and it really doesn't add or detract to the OPs question...

i think i am in total aggreeance on that one:thumbsup2

Hi there. I'm sorry for opening a big can of worms, but that was not my intention.

My original question was if there was ever any problems with the Arndts. i.e., If I booked the Arndts, without ever having worked with them, has anyone had a problem. I was using this board instead of going to the Better Business Bureau.

I did not want this to get into a discussion about who is or who isn't a good photographer, or who likes one style vs another. That is all a matter of personal opinion. My opinion differs from my DF, and it would be different from other people on the boards, I'm sure.

I was asking if anyone had a problem getting what they paid for, and if they had problems working with them, i.e., wanting certain pictures taken and not getting them.

Weddings are a difficult time and stress makes people a little cranky. But we're all here for one thing...to help other Disbrides.

I think based on the overall opinions, I feel safe with going with the Arndts.

If you see outside photography vendors that have been shooting at Disney as long as David and Vicki, Randy, Misty and The Roots, they have to be doing a good job with guests service or they would not be allowed to keep coming back. They have to provide good guests service and work well with your wedding planner. If the wedding planners didn't like someone I'm sure they would tell you. I know their job is to sell Disney Photography, but let's face it most of the Wishes Weddings usually end up going with outside photography (unless it's a park wedding) because it's less expensive and more times than not, it's just better photography. We've all seen that.

I'm a former cast member and have been a bridesmaid in several weddings that David and Vicki photographed. I loved all the pictures! Even before I was engaged, I knew I wanted them when I got married. They are both very professional but fun at the wedding. All the guests always say how much they like them. David is very funny! I've got to tell you that a lot of cast members request them for their weddings because once someone has used them and shows off their wedding album then everyone has to have them.:goodvibes

I'm using them for my parents vow renewal and for my wedding. As soon as I got engaged I booked them. I have another friend who is getting married in May 2011 and she tried to get them but they are completely book that month. If you're thinking about using them, you should probably contact them soon. :thumbsup2
