I looked out of the room blinds to be met with sunshine! So we set off for AK to see the Lion King show –which we missed last trip.
When we arrived at AK we headed straight for the Safari. The line was only 10 mins. So we got FPs and then went to stand in line. We saw quite a few animals, including Elephants, Rhino, Hippos and Giraffes. When we came off the Safari we still had a little wait before out FP time, so we headed back to Dinoland to do Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl again – this time Julie promised to keep her eyes open all the way round the Dinosaur ride, (although checking the ride photo later proved she didn’t quite manage it!).
It was then back to the Safari for our second ride of the day – against the odd we got the same driver!
We then headed to the Lion King show - This is a fantastic show – so imaginative and moving. After a quick lunch at Restaurantasaurus we headed back to POR for our afternoon swim (although the old black clouds and the rumble of thunder was approaching!).
As we got back to POR it started to rain and the thunderstorm had reached us. This knocked the swim on the head, so we decided to go and do some retail therapy instead. At least in the shopping mall we would be dry!
We ordered a taxi from Bell Services, which arrived in a matter of minutes we headed off to The Premium Outlets Mall. The rain was really heavy – I couldn’t even see the road ahead! Full marks to the taxi driver for getting us to the mall in one piece.

Now, Julie had been to this mall with Lorraine a few days before and said it was all under cover so we would be nice and dry. She was partly right. Most of the shops were under cover, but every so often the cover stopped and you had to sprint across the gaps to the next under cover bit! We had a good look round and bought a few items of clothing. I got a nice Tommy Hilfiger shirt.
The rain kept on coming and looked like it was here for the night again – so much for the brief afternoon storms we were told to expect in August!
Once we had seen just about every store, we headed to the exit to get a taxi back to POR. Usually there are loads to choose from, but I guess due to the weather there was just one waiting. We piled in; glad to be out of the rain and headed back to POR. The taxi driver was quite chatty until he put on a Christian program on the radio. There was a discussion on the program about teenagers – the taxi driver then started joining in with the radio program and ranting, raving and preaching about how teenagers were out of control and how they need to follow God – at this point I looked back at Julie, and she looked at me and I think we were both praying that the taxi would reach the sanity of POR ‘VERY’ quickly!
Thankfully we made it back to POR in one piece!
The experience didn’t put us of our dinner in the food court.

Part 13 next – EE at Epcot
