So has anyone heard anything about the hotel rates yet??
One can wish though it will be soon
Still no details on room-only black-out dates, etc... Only the ticket offer has been finalized. We are planning a surprise trip for our kids in December. Right now I have reservations at Pop. I'm crossing my fingers for discounted rooms. Last August we went and were able to get a discounted room and the dining plan. I don't remember how it worked but it was great. I hope we hear something soon.

Thank you, Steve! Looks like that should work out pretty well for all who've posted that they need to know soon. I assume this means that the blackout dates will of course be released with the code? The room discount fare code is supposed to be out mid June.![]()

Thank you so much!!
All room-only bookings require a deposit equal to the first night's charge. If you don't book with the military discount, you'll be charged rack rate until you call back to apply the new booking code, then your rate will be adjusted and the WDTC will credit back the difference, assuming availability with the code. I hope I understood your question correctlyThank you so much!!
Do you know how that will work with dates for next year since the rates haven't been released? Will we pay the 1 night deposit, but our rate isn't guaranteed the same way if we did a regular (non-discounted) room only for next year?

OK, I see what you mean, Danielle. Yes, that's how it would workWhat I am trying to ask is this: since the rates for 2012 have not been released, I assume that if I make a room only reservation using the military code that is coming out that they will use this years rates to make my reservation. I will then pay my deposit of 1 night (at the discounted rate). Then when they do release next years rates (in August, right?), I assume that they will adjust my total accordingly, but will I owe the difference between what I paid for that one night and what the new rate would be for one night (discounted, of course)? Maybe I will just make my initial deposit for more than just the one (discounted) night so I don't have to worry about keeping track of if I have to pay more in a couple months.

I'm sorry your DH has to deploy. I know how stressful that pre-deployment time period can be. Going to WDW a couple of times while DH was deployed last year really helped pass the time faster for us. I wish you and your family all the best and please pass along my thanks to your DH for deploying and serving his countryThank you! I think I will just make my initial deposit for more so I don't have to worry about remembering to make another payment. DH deploys this summer so it's busy enough (trying to fit an entire summer's worth of stuff into 4 weeks) that I don't need that hanging over my head!

WDW has estimated rates for next yr that they will quote over the phone and use for bookingsWhat I am trying to ask is this: since the rates for 2012 have not been released, I assume that if I make a room only reservation using the military code that is coming out that they will use this years rates to make my reservation.
