Where should I replace the radiator cap?? I know we will need to change the car from a cold weather car to a desert heat car? Do we do that near LA or after we cross into AZ???

I have to say I am a little confused by what you are asking. Do you have some sort of special/different radiator cap on your car right now due to living in a colder climate?

I've lived in Arizona and drive back and forth, and never replace the radiator cap. Not even the coolant. Unless it's a special kind, you shouldn't have to worry about it.
