June will be our first family trip to DL and I'm very excited. :yay: We are WDW pros, but DL is new to us.

I have a few questions about Ariel's Grotto. First, my daughters want to know what Ariel is wearing. They have seen her with fins at WDW and are very excited to see her with legs.

Next, are the Ares vouchers for Ariel's grotto (or any of the meals) worth while? I've seen somewhere that they include tax and tip and other places where it says that they don't. I'm confused.

Lastly, we will be a party of 10 - how big of an issue will that be?

thanks for your help.

Ariel is wearing a green dress. When you walk in the restaurant you go down a curved staircase, and Ariel is at the bottom.

A party of 10 shouldn't be a problem. I've been to Ariels, I don't know, 10 times? And it's never been very busy. DL's character meals are never as popular/busy as Disneyworlds.

Ariel: When we went in September, she was wearing a dress and definately had legs!! :rotfl:

Ares Vouchers: They do include tax and tip, and I think are a good value if you don't have other discounts (AP or DisneyVisa, I heard there is no longer a AAA discount). Again, we went this route in September.

Party of 10: I'd call closer to 60 days out. We had a party of 7 and called 3 or 4 weeks ahead of time and only had one option for the day we wanted. They have set times they serve (as opposed to people coming and going all the time like at Goofy's).

We loved Ariels! The food was great.

Here she is last November:

We love Ariel's  she has been in her dress the last 2 times we have eaten there but I thought it was blue aqua sparkly lol atleast in the pics it looks blue-ish lol :goodvibes
great food we have only done dinner, I get the tri-tip each time yum!

Yes, Ariel was wearing the same dress when we went in Feb. of 08:

But you can also see her with fins in DLR:

As far as vouchers for the meals, we've always purchased them through whoever we booked our vacation through (Costco, Get Away Today, etc.). They've always included tax and tip.

But you can also see her with fins in DLR

Her meet and greet isn't there anymore - it was replaced with Pixie Hollow. :goodvibes People have reported seeing her at PFF though (in her dress).

She is wearing the dress similar to the one in the movie, when she joins Eric and his family for dinner.

Make a PS for Ariel's! I recently went and we had a group of 30 so of course we had a PS but they were not taking walk-ins.

We just went to Ariel's this past weekend it was truly magical! Ariel was wearing the same dress as in the picture and was quite the talker ;) It might have been because we were one of the first groups down the stairs for the seating, but my girls were soaking up all the conversation. The food was fantastic and the princess interaction wonderful (my DD's wore their Snow White and Belle dresses and got so many compliments from all of the princesses). As for the vouchers, I haven't used them personally, but when I called to make the PS I was told by the CM that tax & gratuity were included in the price quoted...unfortunately they were not. So any savings you can find is a good thing! We can't wait to go again in October!! Have a wonderful time! :)

This thread got me thinking.... do any of the character meals have pictures included like WDW? The Princess Storybook meal at Epcot and the Cinderella Royal Table in MK have the picture you take with the first princess in the restaurant plus a few 4x6's included. (OF course the price is elevated but they come in a nice folder etc...)

You do have to pay for them but the characters are:
Pluto, chip, dale- at goofys (they rotate)
Ariel- At the princess dinner
Minnie- at minnie and friends
Stortellers we have never had a pic taken with one individual at the begining but idk
Lilo and stich was minnie then daisy but now its mickey and friends so i would assume mickey? But sorry im not sure about that one.

This was from a few yrs back when Ariel used to have a little greeting area, before the movie was re-released, and she wasn't that popular. My boys didn't even know who she was, but we went to meet her just because no one was there.

She's not in DLR with her fins anymore, you can only see Ariel at her Grotto. The menu there is amazing!!!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM tri tip......the chicken is delish too. DBF loves the cioppino and we always leave stuffed. There absolutely can be a wait, we've been turned away before when we didn't have reservations so I always suggest you make them, especially for a large party like yours. She will be in her blue-green dress at the bottom of the steps, you meet her and then head to your table where the other Princesses come see you. I highly recommend AG, it's a great experience. At least for our family it has been. We prefer lunch or dinner over breakfast tho.

This is DD about 18 months ago. Ariel is kneeling in the photo, with legs.
