Anyone used them?
Just getting prices for 12 nights at Easter, they have a mid sized SUV for same price as full size, £83 less than a SUV on USrentacar.co.uk
Argus £269
USrentacar £352
Just found another on Netflights £333

No details of who it will be with so any experiences?

No Wayne but I know some friends who used them in Europe last year.
They said there were no problems and could recommend them, I saved the link in my Florida 'favourites'.

To be honest prior to talking to them about the holiday I had never heard of this company.

Just checked the prices and they are showing £486 for a minivan for our dates next year, whereas USrentacar have £434 Budget and £456 Alamo - so more expensive for us.

Thanks for that,
Also seen a cheaper deal with Hertz using code 115872 brings full size down from £288 to £259 then 10% cashback £233.
Never used Hertz, are they offsite? my Brother uses them every rental but he is in Vegas til next Thursday. Might send him an email.

At MCO Hertz are offsite yes, never used them before.

Hertz were offsite but a while ago I read about MCO bring all the major companies back onsite. I think this was going to be by April?

Might be worth checking out.

Official MCO website says offsite at the moment, but maybe worth checking out with Hertz should anyone wish to rent with them.

Hi Wayne, we are looking for car hire too at the moment for 19 nights starting the end of May. Hertz seem to be offering the best price when you use the code you mentioned.....can anyone use that code?

Also, Hertz says 2 or 4 door, whereas we obviously want a 4 door....do you know what this means?

Thanks in advance.....any more pointers for cheap car hire are appreciated!

John

I assume it means you can specify 2 or 4 doors on the vehicle, you want a 4 so just choose that.
Most saloon's tend to be 4 door anyway.

have used hertz from Miami (Quidco plus mastercard 10% code) and from Port Canaverel.

when I asked about MCO recently was told it's offsite (via shuttle) at mo' but plans for it to come onsite. There's also hertz pick up/collect service at Hard Rock hotel and Waldorf Astoria.:thumbsup2

Hi again, I've just found another code on Hertz' website....716164, which offers 15% discount, may be of use I hope. I'm going to call Hertz to see if they are going 'On-Site' I'll let you know what I find out...

we used hertz last year, dh went on shuttle to get car, we took ME to PORS, we arrived about 15 mins before him, i was literally checking in;)
maybe you could send the family on ME (and not have to worry about bags) and then pick up the car on your own?
dh also managed a quick trip to walmart to pick up bits:lovestruc got to love a man who shops:rotfl:

We had the misfortune of booking a car with Arguscarhire.com last year here in the UK. They are actually a broker and do not hire cars directly but book them on behalf of hire companies. When we used them they booked a 7 seater car for us which we had to go to Heathrow to pick up. When we got there the hire company had no cars available for us even though Argus had taken my money via the internet booking. It took me nearly 3 months of constant emailling and badgering to get my money back. So in my experience not a good company to deal with.

John, I have rented about 25 cars in US, always book a 2dr as they are a few £ cheaper than 4dr, always got a 4dr. They buy very few 2 dr cars, you are very unlucky if you get one, expecially if you go intermediate or above, I have seen the odd smaller 2 dr.

Tracy, we not staying onsite at Easter so can't use ME, Don't think we are even going into Disney this trip, save that for August, 21 day tix, onsite and DDP, I will be all Disney'd out. :goodvibes

Done some Googling for Argus, seems they get very mixed reviews, a lot are the usual, hard sell, no cars etc, exatly same as Alamo:rotfl: Its all down to which retal company they sell you but don't think you get to know until after booking.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I called Hertz at MCO last night, but their lines were busy and so, I got put through to the call centre. The operative there didn't know anything about Hertz going on-site, so no help there then.

Wayne, don't know if you've called Charter Travel for a quote, but they are the cheapest I've found so far (apart from Hertz off-site). They use Budget.

Won't book anything by phone, rather pay a few £ more and do online, any mistakes I know are my fault then.
