I had the most awesome Sweet 16 party for DD Sat. night with a slew of people and then had people over again on Sunday...probably only 10 or so but all family then thankfully.....Mom gets sick last week and is rushed to the hospital when I was in VA...she tells me that they don't know what is wrong mentioned pancreatitis, gallbladder, and that wieght thing she had done almost 2 years ago...Mom sat here Sat night and yesterday on a chair with all of these peopel--she finally left yesterday becasue she kept running to bathroom- sorry if too much info she told me this this morning...DD, who I had the birthday for, kept telling me it was Norwalk Virus...Mom said no it wasn't...DD tells me when they went to see my sister in the new rehabilitation place she is in there were signs all over and you had to cover and gown up which DD told me today Mom did not do...well guess what they told Mom she had today!!!? I am totally peed off I have to call all these people and tell them to watch for symptoms, my doctor said if we get sick we have to stay away from people until 72 hours after last symptoms! My Mom infuritates me so much sometimes! :furious:

Having just had this a few weeks ago, I can totally understand how angry you are! :furious:

You don't say how old your mother is but could there be some dementia involved? I mean, there were signs in the rehab place but she didn't think they applied to her??

At any rate, it's not 100% contagious. While my son and I were both really sick with it, my DH never got it at all.

That really stinks on your Mom's part though. Best wishes that you don't get it.

No dementia more a sense of entitlement and the fact that things are applicable to everyone but her! I am in the process of calling all of these people to warn them, I feel bad a few of DD friend's are in Florida this week and I have no way to contact them, yikes! Sometimes she just really infuriates me!
