Are you Push?? Our sister trip around the World - COMPLETED 6/13!

So jealous that you are now a DVC member!

Thank you for the review of Disneyquest! Both trips we planned on doing it and ended up cutting it out of the plans. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun though so maybe we will have to do it!

Sorry to hear about all the rain. At least you didn't let it get you down!

I love having DVC so far! Eventually in this trip report I will get to the part when we actually STAYED at a DVC resort! Ha.

I had never seem DQ on a TR before so I figured I better include it! It's fun for a few hours but not a "must do" every time

Oh goodness, I would like to buy absolutely everything in the art store, there’s so much amazing stuff in there!! Goofy’s candy co is another palce I want to buy everything, lol!! There’s so many yummy things in there, I want to try all of them!

Dear God, we got stuck in that rain at AK and seriously were both terrified by how loud the thunder and lightning was! I don’t think I’ve ever been so glad to be inside a warm restaurant for lunch that day!!

Disney Quest sounds like it actually is a lot of fun! I haven’t ever really had any interest in going in there, I’m not big with arcades or video games or anything, so it doesn’t really appeal to me, but maybe someday!!

Hello all! Before I post this next update, I figured I should explain the title of my trip report, in honor of THIS - which I saw on the Disney Parks Blog yesterday on facebook and though it was so cute!

Anyway, Jess and I always wanted to see Push, and we knew he was in Tomorrowland, so every time we went up to a trashcan we would say "Are you Push"? before we threw out our trash. Then it just became a running joke and we basically were talking to every trashcan in all of WDW. Silly, I know, but it was a memorable theme throughout the trip!

Anywho, where we last left off, we had left DisneyQuest via SSR and arrived at Epcot right around 4:30, when the sun was beginning to come out! We had some time to do some exploring in Epcot before dinner!
DSCN1501_zpsb447e9fd.jpg

Fastpasses were still available for Soarin', so we pulled two to use for after dinner then walked onto one of my favorite Epcot rides - Living with the Land! As you can see, there was some extreme wait times in that area during this busy time of day...
DSCN1485_zpse892d374.jpg

And cue too many pictures of large fruit on LWTL...

And hello creepy fish! This is actually kinda scary...
DSCN1490_zpsf8c3dde8.jpg

And LOTS of Hidden Mickey's

After our ride on The Land, Jess decided she wanted a snack since dinner was still a while off, so we stopped and Sunshine Seasons and I convinced her to get the strawberry shortcake (mainly so I could try it). It was delicious! I just got a soda since I had been snacking on my rice krispie treat all day.
DSCN1500_zps54374e13.jpg

Once we were done, we wandered over to the sea and walked onto Nemo!
DSCN1505_zps20240999.jpg

And can we talk about how cute those little girls are behind Jess?

Such a cute ride but that darn queue is so long. I can't imagine anyone would wait that long...After Nemo, we planned to walk around the aquarium for a while. They were doing a "last call" for Crush, so we ran right in as the show was starting. It was adorable, as always.
DSCN1509_zps2ff3b912.jpg

Afterwards, we spent a while just wandering around the aquarium, checking things out.

Hi Turtle!
DSCN1513_zpsa1bb46c4.jpg

Lots of little nemo's
DSCN1520_zps7c5910bb.jpg

Soooo here is my REALLY stupid story from before we left The Sea. As we were walking out there is a gift shop, and they had a plastic diorama thing of what sea turtles looked like as they were hatching. I definitely thought they were real and proceeded to have a mini heart attack about how cool is was. There was a lady reading the sign and she just looked at me like...uhh, you're a moron! Doh! :duck:

By now it was about 5:00 and we were pretty much done with all the things we wanted to do in Epcot (which is why it's our least favorite park). We had one thing left though...

Figment!
DSCN1521_zps1e91ec69.jpg

I love that little guy...so we walked over and as usual, it was a walk on. I know some people hate on this ride but I love it. Here is a cute sideways Hidden Mickey!
DSCN1523_zps6e3b34aa.jpg

When we were done, we didn't think we had enough time to make it over to World Showcase to see anything, so we decided to check in to dinner at Coral Reef!

You are an updating MACHINE:worship:! I am all caught up now, though!

The strawberry shortcake is one of my favorite things ever, as is Living with the Land!

Can't wait to hear about Coral Reef!

Holy cow! I'm many updates behind!
Disney Quest is pretty neat. We did it once. Some of the games are pretty fun. DH enjoyed it a lot!
I LOVE the Strawberry Shortcake from SS! Yummmm!

This update featured three things we missed on our trip that I really wanted to see :rotfl2::rotfl2:

1. Push! I totallyyyy forgot to look for him and I so wanted to. I explained the ENTIRE concept to DBF before we left so he wouldn't think I was crazy looking for a trashcan and then NEVER did. Ugh. Well, guess that's something to do next time:thumbsup2 Did you guys ever find him?

2. Living with the Land.

3. Journey into Imagination with Figment. I think half my trouble with this one is i have no idea where it is in Epcot :rotfl2:

I've been trying to get out lots of updates lately! You haven't been doing too bad yourself :)

We enjoyed DQ and would go again - not every trip though! I wish I had my own piece, haha. I definitely will next time.

Forgot to mention - no we never did find Push!!! :( Maybe next time. Living with the Land is great - definitely try it next time. Figment is cute also - it's near Captain EO if you know where that is.

It was time for dinner at Coral Reef!

DSCN1536_zpsf82c7e39.jpg

FYI - I took this picture as we left. It wasn't quite that dark when we entered the restaurant!

We checked in about 20 minutes early. She handed us a buzzer and we no sooner sat down on the couch that it was going off! We were seated really close to the glass (there was just onetable next to us), so I'd say it was definitely a good seat! I knew what I was going to order months before
I got there so I barely looked at the menu.

Here was our view:
DSCN1525_zps74c7c2dd.jpg

These little guys hung around the whole time!
DSCN1535_zpsc41c06ef.jpg

While we waited for our waiter, it was awesome to look at all the fish in the tank - there were also divers down there and they were waving at the kids. It was awesome and I'd love to take kids there! I was actually happy we were one table away from the glass, because a lot of kids were hovering over
the tables that were really close and that would have annoyed me. When our waiter came, we both got some water and I ordered...the lobster pasta! Yum, I couldn't wait to try it. Jess went off of the beaten path (for her) and got the catch of the day. I can't remember what it was called now, but it was a white fish that I hadn't heard of before in a lemon butter sauce.

Shortly after, our waiter brought us our drinks and our bread. The main dish came out soon after that -mine at least! Here is the yummy lobster pasta.

DSCN1530_zps09346674.jpg

As you can see, there were huge chunks of lobster in there.

When the runner brought our food, he brought to orders of the lobster pasta. Uh oh! The runner took the food back and I waited patiently for them to bring back the right food for Jess. Well, he must have put the order in wrong because he didn't come back with food for at LEAST 15 or 20 minutes.

Once she got her fish, it was REALLY yummy! Mine was delicious as well but I almost wished I had gotten what she had.
DSCN1531_zps74621f8d.jpg

Up until this point, I was really loving Coral Reef, but this really turned out to be one of our worst dining experiences. I ended up eating my whole meal before she even got hers, then I just sat there and watched her eat. It was really terrible, because they didn't offer to do anything to remedy the situation. We were on the DDP so I guess there wasn't really anything they could do, but still, it really ruined what was otherwise a great meal. On the plus side, both of our dishes were excellent. I would eat there again
as the food was fabulous. After that, it was time for dessert! We both got the chocolate wave and it was yummy!

DSCN1532_zps86cbedd7.jpg

I think I got some sort of chocolate lava/melting cake at every restaurant this week. We settled up our bill and left the restaurant around 8:00 with our bellies full! We were ready for our first ride on one of our favorites - Soarin'!

Our rating for this meal is as follows:
Food: 4. The food here was really good! Both of our entrees were delicious and I would go back again for the food.
Service: 1. Clearly, I was not happy with the service. Although we were seated quickly, I wish they would have taken my food back and brought out our entree's at the same time. It's not enjoyable to eat a meal at a restaurant and just dig in while your dining companion sits there hungry!
Ambiance: 4. LOVE the ambiance here. Obviously it is really unique and super cool.
Wait time: 5. We didn’t wait long at all, we were seated quickly!

Would we visit again? Yes, but we would just hope that the service was better. The food was very good.

Ranking: 6. This one ranks low on the list because of the absolutely terrible service.

After a yummy but frustrating dinner at Coral Reef, we head over to...

DSCN1539_zpsa853b51c.jpg

ready to hit our favorite ride in Epcot...

DSCN1538_zps69abaaa0.jpg

We pulled out our fastpasses and jumped in the FP line. I know it's necessary, but I hate how there's still a pretty long wait in the Fastpass line. I think about 20 minutes later, we were Soarin' over California (in the top row, woohoo!). This ride was fantastic, as always. This is my favorite song on the 4 parks, 1 world CD - listening to it just brings me back every time!

We were skipping Illuminations tonight, so we hit up the Character Spot! It was a lot less crowded at this time since most people were over in the World Showcase waiting for Illuminations. The posted wait was 25 minutes and I'd say it was about accurate - it was really fun! I'd never wanted to wait in the line before but I was glad I did. But the pictures are TERRIBLE. We had just eaten so I have a major food baby and my hair/makeup looks terrible from walking around in the rain all day. I'm hesitant to even post these pictures - don't judge too harshly!!

We had time for one last ride before we had to leave to beat the Illuminations crowd, so we jumped on Spaceship Earth on our way out of the parks!

DSCN1542_zpsbd6ab6c7.jpg

We were done by 9:15, just as people were starting to filter back over into Future World. We didn't wait long for a bus and were snug in our bed in no time! We had one more waterpark morning left, so we got to sleep in one more time!

I don't like seafood so Coral Reef isn't too high on my list. I'm glad you both enjoyed your food, and that you had a good table, but how awful about the poor service.
Love the character meet pics!

We've been to Coral Reef twice now, and the service has never been its strong suit. I had the lobster ravioli last time and it was just okay, but that lobster pasta you had looks much more appealing. I do love the atmosphere in there, though. It's just a maybe restaurant from now on.

I listen to the Soarin' music on Four Parks, One World ALL THE TIME! It really is one of those songs that can just take you right back! The best. But you're totally right about it taking a while, even in the Fastpass line. I mean, I get why, but I don't have to like it! At least there's good queue music.:thumbsup2

We did Character Spot for the first time last trip (I guess you've seen it in the video, duh) and it will be on our must-do list from now on, no matter how many other times we meet those characters! So much fun!

Captain EO is another one I have never located either! :rotfl2: My cousin told me you continue down the path by Nemo I think?:confused3

It looks like you guys had a great table at Coral Reef. I agree with it being better to be set back a bit for the same reason you said. People hovering by my table irks me.

Your lobster pasta looks AMAZING! I never had Coral Reef on the list of places I wanted to try but maybe I should change that. Although that service is a serious problem. I've had that happen to me before, where one person's dish comes out at a really different time and it really is terrible. They should've at least brought you a side dish or appetizer to fill the time or something.

Your pictures with the characters look great! You're being silly!:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more!

joining in. Luvin all the pics esp the ones of Aoa

Thanks! I am a big seafood lover and the food was good...if you ever decide to try it I hope you have better service!

The lobster pasta had huge chunks of fresh lobster, really yummy! We will definitely do the character spot again too.

If you guys ever need a third, I am in. :)
Haha thanks for following, I'll let you know :goodvibes

Just found your trip report and love it! I have never done one, but you are inspiring me to try! This fall we are going to Disney for the first time without our two daughters. We all share a passion for Disney like you and your sister, but they will both be in college and will not be able to go when we want to. Anyways, we decided to let our son invite his best friend to go with us and now his friends whole family is going too. So, we will be introducing a new family to Disney. We figured we have the room with our DVC so why not share the magic? It should make for a fun report if I do one!

Thank you, that is so kind! I love introducing new people to Disney...next year I am planning a trip with my best friend who isn't the biggest Disney fan. I would love to read your report!

Can't beat the top row! We ended up getting it every time we rode this trip :cool1:

Sorry for the lack of updates lately!! I work in public accounting and this time of year is CRAZY and will be for the next month or so! But after April 15th, I'm spending 5 days in Punta Cana with my mom & sister (who's also in public accounting), so I have something to look forward to. The updates may be slow to come now for the next month or so but please bear with me!

Up next is the last waterpark update, so once again no photos!

After a very rainy Tuesday and a good night's rest, we woke up around 8:45 and got ready for another Blizzard Beach morning! Since we were there for a full 8 days (our longest trip prior to this was 5 days, 4 of which were WDW days), we felt like we had a lot of time to relax in the waterparks, and it was great! We had a quick breakfast in the room again and changed into our bathing suits. Once again, it was a hot sunny day! We used the same strategy as last time so we didn't have to rent a locker - we threw our towels, sunscreen and KTTW cards in a shopping bag and left everything else behind.

We were at the bus stop by 9:20 and didn't wait long for a bus. It was a quick ride and we were through the turnstiles by 9:45. We were one of the first people in the park and I experienced my first real "rope drop"! We are always at the park at opening but I've never seen the actual rope DROP. But they counted down, and dropped the rope to let us in! We found a good spot to put our stuff down and were off. I chickened out and decided not to do Summit Plummet and Jess didn't care to do it again (she had done it once a few years before) Instead we opted to try the downhill double dipper first! We hiked up the steps and the guy in front of us had his camera (NOT waterproof!) with him. The attendant told him it was going to get ruined and the guy acted like he didn't care. Then he changed his mind and the attendant kindly stored it for him as he used the ride. Like, hello, do you not see the big pool of water at the end??

Anyway, we went down after them and this ride is fun but really short! I think it was like 3 or 5 seconds a ride and it loads reallllly slow because the pool at the bottom has to be totally clear before the next person can go down so I can see why it gets backed up. But since there was no line, we did it again before going to the mat slides on the "purple" slope again since they were our favorite. We did the toboggan racers and did the snow stormers twice - I love those things!

After all that walking, we decided to give the ski lift a try since it was still early and the line was relatively short. This thing kind of grosses me out because you're sitting where alot of other wet tooshies just sat. Ew. So from now on, I'll take the stairs, haha. Once we got to the top, we decided to do the family raft ride, Teamboat Springs. If you'll remember, last time we were on this ride I got a yucky surprise from a co-riders lack of...underwear? This time we were paired up with some foreigners (South American maybe?). NOT that I dislike foreigners or there's anything wrong with sharing a tube with them, but these kids were straight up BRATS. It was two boys (probably 11 and 13-ish?) and their mom. As soon as got to the bottom (where the tube winds through some knee high water before you exit at the end), they kept jumping in and out of the tube, trying not to get caught by CMs and the mom kept looking at us and laughing like - oh, don't you think my kids are cute? One time, one of the boys kicked me in the arm REALLY hard when he was jumping out. I was so not amused. Eventually we got off the tube at the end - I think this ride is just bad luck for me!

After that, we had already done the other slide on green the other day (which we disliked) and the only other ride on the "green" slopes was Summit Plummet - so we head off to the red slopes! I think the only thing of interest here were some open/closed windy slides. We grabbed a double tube then when we got to the top we realized we could only do the open tube with the double slides. So we rode the open tube down (fairly boring), then grabbed single tubes and hiked back up - those stairs are a beast!!! We used our single tubes in the closed slide(which was fun!) and by then we were really tired from all the walking. We jumped in the lazy river and rode to the wave pool (melt away bay). This one is more bobbing type waves rather than the HUGE ones at Typhoon but it was very crowded. We floated around for a few minutes until we were tired of getting bumped into. We went back to our chairs to dry off and lay out for a few minutes in the sunshine, then it was time for lunch!

We went early today - around 11:30 to beat the rush. I had read on the Disney food blog about these pretzel hot dogs they had so I went to grab one! It was a hotdog with nacho cheese wrapped in a pretzel (like a corn dog but a pretzel instead). It came with chips and a cookie and I also got a soda. We went to the lodge thing and grabbed a table outside while Jess got some chicken nuggets - it took FOREVER. Literally, probably about half an hour. I think she was one of the first people in line and the food wasn't ready yet or something. But I sat there by myself yelling at the birds attacking me and eating my cheesy messy hot dog (which was pretty good by the way!). Once Jess finished, it was around 12:35 and we had done everything we wanted to do. We checked out the store on the way out and then waited for the bus. We just missed an AoA bus so we decided to just take the bus to Pop instead! That one came quickly and then we walked through Pop and across the bridge to Art of Animation. It was a nice walk but very HOT, as usual! We quickly went to our rooms and changed before heading out for our next adventure around 1:15 - Hollywood Studios!

The bus came quickly and we were walking through the turnstiles at around 1:30.

DSCN1545_zps0d64992f.jpg

You can see how rainy and yucky it looks!

The fastpasses for TSM were gone for the day already - would I ever get to ride??? Instead we head to Tower of Terror to grab a fastpass for later! After that, Beauty and the Beast was about to start, so we popped in to watch. This Belle was just okay for me.
DSCN1546_zps71521391.jpg

DSCN1547_zps3afd61fe.jpg

Obviously they are all very talented but she just wasn't my favorite. Towards the end of the show we heard the rain start to POUR down. We sat and waited for people to file out, as we were not in a rush to head out into the rain. Eventually, we threw on our ponchos and prepared to RUN! We first dashed over to Rock 'n Rollercoaster as we were due for another FP already, then we jumped on Tower of Terror! As always happens during a big rain storm, the park was totally emptying out. We rode ToT and it was different than usual - it went up before it dropped! I was anxiously awaiting the first drop, but it went up quickly first then dropped. It was different than what I've experienced before but cool! Here's a redneck ride photo...I scream so loud every time on this ride.
DSCN1550_zpsd909bdf4.jpg

I can't remember the status of the rain when we came out of ToT, but our fastpasses weren't quite ready yet for Rock 'n Rollercoaster (as you can see, there were short waits between the time we pulled FP and our ride time), so we head over to the Animation Academy! We had *just* missed a class ( I think it started at 3:00 and we got there at like 3:03 or something), but our RnRc FP were ready at 3:10 so we hauled it BACK over to RnRc! I think we had to wait a minute or two before our fastpasses were valid, but soon we were rocking out to some Aerosmith! I think we got "Sweet Emotion" this time, which isn't too bad. Jess was wanting to get "Walk this Way" the whole time but we never did. Oh well, still a fantastic ride! Once we were done all of the thrill rides for the day, it was time for some snacks. We were right near that little ice cream booth so Jess stopped to grab some mint chocolate chip! I really wanted a cupcake from Starring Rolls but they didn't have the Butterfinger or the Chocolate PB so I opted for a funnel cake instead. I thought about going over to Writer's Stop for a carrot cake cookie but decided against the long walk! We met somewhere in the middle to snack.
DSCN1552_zps571afdf3.jpg

My yummy funnel cake!
DSCN1553_zpsaed75ee9.jpg

Then we head to the 4:00pm animation class. Obviously we love this thing. This time we drew Pooh!

The "two" is for our second animation class...

This teacher started drawing and then had a guess who the character was, which I thought was cute.

Jess stopped before our next area to get a pressed penny!
DSCN1564_zpsa63290bb.jpg

After that, we head over to the Little Mermaid and waited about 15 mins for the next show. There was a guy waiting by himself (mid-20s probably?) who waited the whole time in the "holding room", then sat down next to us, and right before the show started he bolted. Not sure why you would wait all that time to just leave?? Maybe he had an emergency! Anyway, this is one of Jess' favorite shows so of course she loved it. I personally could skip it every other trip but that will never be allowed!!
