Wondering who is and who is not using Magical Express for their trip and why?

Thanks!

I voted towncar and it's just personal preference...I like getting off the plane, having a guy standing there waiting on me...getting in the car and poof! you're there! We did the Mears thing a few years ago and totally hated it. I know that ME is different that the Mears of old, but I still can't do it. It's amazing how long negative experiences can stick with you!

As nice as it would be not to have to worry about our luggage, we always rent a car when we go. :)

Definitely. Its free, someone else takes care of our bags, and we only have to carry our carryon bags, one with essentials and one for the park after we arrive (backpack).

I'll post my results after we get back on Friday July 8, 2005!

We're going in October and at this point we are still taking Tiffany town car. I "need" my grocery stop and Tiffany has always been reliable. I like the idea of it just being us in the car and going only to where we need to go. worth the $100.

I think I would probably do that as well if we were staying in a resort with kitchen facilities. But, we are staying in the AS Sports and don't have any kitchen facilities so no need for a grocery stops etc.

We are not fond-of-waiting-for-busses people, so we're planning on getting a car. We had to think a little bit harder about it with ME being free, but in the end the car still won out.

We will definitely be using ME for our trip next January. Reasons are 1) it's free. 2) We never do anything special on our arrival and departure days. 3) We are a family that is not in a hurry, so any delays either way on ME shouldn't bother us at all. 4) Even when using a towncar on our past trips, we always requested to be picked up 3 hours before our flight left. We are early birds at everything we do. So as you can see, I feel Disney designed ME just for us. :earsboy:

I am using it for my trip in November. I figure they SHOULD have any kinks worked out by then. I'll see how that experience goes, and then decide if I want to use it again on my 2 trips in 2006.

We used a towncar service for our last Disney vacation and both my husband and myself agreed that it was pretty cool to have someone waiting for us at the baggage area with our name on a sign. To us the whole towncar service just adds something special to our trip, no waiting for luggage to arrive at our resort, no waiting in a bus, and since we don't rent a car the grocery stop is a must. So for us the cost is well worth it.

I plan to use it for our trip next month. I don't have my luggage tags yet. If I don't have them in time, I will get my own luggage and give the bags to the ME CMs for further handling. If I do have the tags, I'm going to test the system. We have another trip scheduled in February with family and I want to be able to recommend ME (or not). I'm really hopeful that it works well.

I did not vote. We are doing things a bit differently this trip. There are 5 of us since my Mom is coming with. We really enjoyed having a car onsite, but did not want the expense of a van, to get the 5 of us plus luggage. SOOOOO....

DH, and kids are going on Magical express, while my mom, and I take the rental car. My kids really want to take ME, and I really have no desire to do so. We all get our way.

I will still use Fl.Tours for airport transfers. I don't want to wait around for the trip to the resort and want my luggage to arrive with me.

For my September trip we're driving :earseek: (My D-I-L is afraid to fly, plus with it being hurricane season we really want to have a car down there). However in December I'll be flying again and will definitely use ME.

I used it May 13th and May 22nd and had a very positive experience. I didn't get my luggage tags until a few days before I left, but even the people I saw without tags weren't having any problems. I was on the bus in less than 15 minutes and leaving the airport within about 20-25 minutes. The bus was not even full and my resort (POP) was the first stop. Check-in was a breeze with lots of CMs on duty at POP. Luggage was delivered to my room while I was at the park that afternoon. Checkout was a breeze with me dropping my luggage off that morning, getting my boarding pass, then going off for an early breakfast PS at MK. I made sure I was back at POP by 2:45pm and the DME bus left the resort about 3:00pm, again not even half full and did not stop anywhere else. The CM at the bus made sure everyone knew which side of the airport their airline was leaving from. After dropping off my luggage at the airline check-in that morning I didn't see it again until I got home to Dallas that night. I was leary of DME going down there so packed a pretty full carryon. However on the way back I checked both bags and had nothing with me in the airport except a small messenger bag I had used in the parks. Not having to deal with any luggage was great.

Yes It's Free, and we'll be ariving early 7 am wouldn't be needing luggage untill late. Hopefully it will be in our room after we return from the parks. :cool1: :cool1:

We always rent a car. With so much to do in Orlando, besides Disney, it just makes sense. If you shop around and book early enough, you can get a great deal. I have a 10 day rental in July for an Intermediate car through National EA for $156 and an 8 day Intermediate, again EA, in September for $123! Less than $16/day...how can you complain? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Since we are getting the free dining plan, we have decided to go ahead with Tiffany. We have used them in the past and just want to be whisked away. We just get water bottles, milk boxes and wine :flower: at the store. The CR charged $22.00/27.00 (don't remember exactly) for a bottle of white zinfindal - :earseek: .

yes, we're going to use it because it is free. We have gotten our ME tags and we leave on Wednesday, June 22nd. We're flying American. I'll post when I get back about how our experience went getting to Disney and returning to the airport.

I would rather rent a car, then I can go and get groceries and go shopping without paying any cab fares. Also then we have the option of driving to the parks if we choose.
