Are You planning a trip to Disneyland in December?

Hey guys my mom, dad, and myself are coming out on December 26 till Jan 2. We are also going to the Rose Bowl parade (yes we have front row grand stand tickets:banana:) Any tips would me great. The last time we were here was about 6 years ago. We are staying at the Marriott convention center. Can't wait.

:sad2: very sad for you....ours is hanging in the balance at this point...have not cancelled, but hubby's workplace may be having another protracted shut down. Last one was 6 and a half months. We still managed a cheap trip then, but are thinking we will just cancel if it happens this time. It's getting hard walking around or doing anything with all my fingers and toes crossed... ;)
I wish the economy would just bloody well pick up and get moving again!

Yea it really hit me hard when we had to cancel. The thought just makes me sick to my stomach. It's the whole reason we bought AP's in March. :(
Oh well....my fingers and toes are still crossed that I may be able to sneak away a few days for the DIS Diva trip.

Alrighty.. all the updates have been made.

You all are going to have the best time! There is something so special about being at Disneyland during the holiday seasons. :santa:

:cool1::cheer2: Hubby has no company shut down coming before Christmas!! so the trip is on for sure, barring any other unforseen circumstances of course! Soooo happy!! :woohoo:

Please put me on the list, too! I just finished making arrangements for:

December 10-14
Fairfield Inn

:yay::banana:

I'm too excited to sleep!!!

Gotcha down!

I was thinking about how cute those little mugs are that they have at the plaza inn during the christmas season.. and they have chocolate in it with a tiny candy cane.. and the outside of the mug has something cute on it disney themed.

Those are adorable. It would be fun to get a set of those but sheesh on the calories, getting them!:rotfl:

I remember hearing about handmade candy canes in December on certain days. Anyone know how this works? :santa:

So where does everyone think the best place to 1: have dinner, and 2: ring in the New Year at Disneyland? not necisarily (how the heck do you spell that?) in the park if out of the park is better....I'm thinking I should book something or other now.

Hey ya Miss Shannon..You are changed.. good savings!

I saw those candy cane cups too. They look so good. Apparently they have peppermint fudge too. YUM! Too bad I'm on a strict diet. I'm already worried about how I'm going to make it at Disneyland while dieting. I've always ate whatever I wanted when there. (Thus the reason I'm the size I am :rotfl:)

I've just passed my 60 day mark and am contemplating which reservations I want to make. I always find it hard to make PS because I never know if I'll really be hungry at the time I make them. But then I'm afraid if I don't we won't be able to get in.

Install ieSpell (free) if you use Internet Explorer as your browser. I've used that IE addon for a couple years. It's excellent for catching typos and spelling errors before posting them for all the world to see on forums and other web sites.:surfweb:

I hear you! We were at the 60 day mark yesterday. I've started making reservations just to get something planned, but I'm already wondering if I choose the place we'll want to be at the time we want to eat!

I figure I'll probably make PS arrangements for lunch and dinner for the various times and then call and cancel them if we decide to go with counter service or another option during those times. Better to have something in place since you can always cancel.

Yep, that's pretty much what we do to. Of course right now it's hard to plan too since they still haven't posted the Dec. hours. I'm fairly confident the CM Xmas party will be going on the week we're there, but until I know for sure it makes it difficult to figure out a time to book for dinner. If they are then, we'll do a little bit later dinner in DTD after Disneyland closes. If they are not that week, we'd normally eat earlier in the park & stay until they close. I wish they'd update the dang calender.

thank you, that is a very necessary ( ;) ) program! I like that it's so easy to use!

It is official... my mother and I will be returning to CA in December for a weekend trip. We arrive on Friday December 4th and leave on Dec 7th. We will be doing local anaheim stuff on friday night, HOLLYWOOD on Saturday, and a full day at DLR on Sunday to see the Christmas Decorations!

We will be staying at the Park Vue Inn. I am so excited. Depending on my finances, I might invest in an AP finally.

We plan to do the walk of fame, Grauman's Chinese theater, The Hollywood Wax Museum. Homes of the stars. I cannot wait to play tourist! I have convinced my mother to let me go to PINK'S! I cannot wait to try their chili dog! I want to try and do Roscoes Chicken and Waffles for dinner. I think we are going to have a great time!

Then of course there is DLR at Christmas time! I have never been able to experiance this, so I am very excited to have the chance to. I love Christmas time, as it seems to bring out the human in so many people. I don't care if it is busy. I will be in my laughing place, during the happiest time of the year...

ooOOOhh be very very careful Disneynerd420.... cuz having an annual pass means You will go lots more!:goodvibes

I think I have everything updated.. if not just let me know!

So who all is going to the procession?

We'll be there on the day of the processional, but we won't really be attending/watching.

So the CM holiday parties have been confirmed for Dec. 7&8. We're there then too. I'm trying to remember what time Disneyland closed last year for the CM party. Was it 6? I need to make dinner reservations in DTD but don't want to cut into park time. :goodvibes

Dawn, you can change my dates. We're going December 2nd through the 5th and staying at the Motel 6 maingate. :)
