I'm not saying I do ALL the time but most of the time for birthdays, holidays, but not Christmas. I think the price of a card is just outrageous anymore. (Am I being cheap?) If I receive one I always feel quilty about throwing it away. I would like to think I'm saving a few trees! I don't know what the proper etiquette is for this subject so I thought I would ask my fellow DISers.

Do you send any electronic/email cards?
and
Do you get offended if you receive an electronic/email card over a regular paper card?

Last time I checked, it was still the thought that counted!!!:D

nope, i'm not offended. i'm happy when i get any card! :)

I send a good number of e-cards, generally like an extension of an email or PM to me, a little bit more color, music and such. I like to sometimes send them off for just a 'hello' or pic-me-up. Also, with a community like here on the DIS, there are many people I would like to send a paper greeting to (I should have stock in Hallmark) but do not have their address. I do send a number of paper cards to a lot of people, and some here too.

Bottom line, I do like e-cards, but for a 'meaningful' event, of a 'close person', if I have an address, I often send a paper card, maybe an e-card in addition. I do enjoy getting them also, the person sending it thought enough to send it.

:D I'm not offended by electronic cards at all. It's always nice to be remembered whether electronically or through the snail mail. I send e-cards to DH a lot -- just a thinking of you kind of thing. For big deals (christmas, birthdays, thank you notes, etc.), I usually make my own cards to send out in the snail mail.

It is nice to be remembered, however, if it is from a close friend or family member and it is a special ocassion I think a standard card is more appropriate than an e-card.

I love to get them, I love to send them.:) And if you go to the Swan/Dolphin homepage, send a postcard, you can register to win a WDW trip.;)

Not offended at all. It is the thought that counts, not the cost!

I love to send and get them. They always cheer me up!

I send them and receive them all the time, not offended at all.;)

I like e-cards. It's the forwards I hate and delete immediately.

I'd rather get an e-card than a paper card. It just doesn't make sense to spend that kind of money on something that's going to get thrown away.

I love to give and to get e-cards. I go back and review my card after opening it.

They're such a personal way to stay in touch, I can't believe they're still free.

Would you pay to send an e-card???

I do a mixture of both! While I love e-cards and love being able to send something like that on a moments notice, I also love going out and picking cards to send to people. For special occasions, I go out and buy a card and send it... I will also usually send an e-card as well. I think both are great and have their place. I love getting both :)

They don't offend me either! I love to send them and recieve them. Sometimes you can't go out and buy a card every time you want to and it makes it easy to send as many as you want. :)

I use them a lot. Especially for my young niece and nephew who live 4 hrs away. I can let them know I am thinking of them. I don't think I would pay for a service though. What are everyone's favorite sites for them?

HA! I just got an ecard from my DH moments prior to reading this thread. I LOVED it and was not offended.
