Are you judgmental

Yes, I'm judgmental. I think we all are to some degree.
That said, I'm not confrontational, so I don't put my opinions 'out there' too often.
I do gossip with friends/family more than I should.

I'm a nurse. We aren't supposed to judge ;)

I've got 8 tattoos, 4 of them visible while I'm at work. No one seems to mind! Though I did have these two cute old ladies in WDW tell me that I'm going to have a hard time finding a job lol. I can't get mad at things like that, it just never bothers me. I worked hard for my degree, my nursing license, and my chemotherapy certification. I really don't care if I get judged, honestly.

Sorry to go off topic but when my son was in the hospital, they had to take 2 samples of blood daily and his veins are narrow and apparently move around a lot. The only nurse who could draw blood was a super tattooed nurse and my son would only let her touch him!

Judging is normal. Not all judging is bad. Some judging (or the reaction to judging) leads to positive change like adjustments in policies for the greater good.

Of course there are times when we judge on petty things too. It happens.

Your last point is so true. I was watching the hockey game last night and made a very rude judgement of someone on TV based solely on what she was wearing. I realized what I had done and admitted it was a very bad thing to do.

I am judgemental to a point, but as others have said, everyone is whether they want to admit it or not.

I try not to judge too much because I know people could make false judgements of me too.

I guess I'd say that thoughts pop into my head, but I try to filter them before I react.

I think it's natural to make guesses based on previous experience. (It worked back in caveman days, after all. - If you saw the last tiger eat your buddy, you're going to avoid the next one!) But I don't think it's logical or practical anymore. (Judging based on skin color, for instance, isn't reliable or fair.)

As for tattoos, I've seen some I thought were very pretty and others that I didn't like. While they're not something I would do (except maybe a wedding ring if I had a job that didn't allow me to wear one) I figure "to each their own". I will say that tats on the face, or super large ones (like sleeves) do kind of distract me, though. - I don't think they make someone a bad person, but they draw my attention off other things they might rather I notice.

So are you saying you expressed this rude judgement out loud as well as the subsequent admission? To whom? If that's what we're talking about then no, I don't "judge" - it feels too petty, snarky and mean to actually say stuff like that. Nor do I believe that anybody really cares what I think about any given situation. But it's impossible not to make an evaluation of everything we observe and it's all strained through the filter of our own biases. How can you not? :confused3

I was watching the game with a friend when I made the comment. Believe me, it's not something I usually do.

So if you saw someone wearing jeans below their rear, what would your opinion be?
Actually I just saw this the other day on the elevator at work.

The kid had the waist of his pants around his upper thighs. I could literally see 90% of his underwear.

I almost asked him why even bother wearing pants? It wasn't that cold out and it's not like he was modest. ;)

I am always secretly judging people who put their kids on leashes out in public. I judge other petty things that are of no concern to me. I'm trying to be better.

Yep, we all are on some issues, whether we admit it or not!! That's because we are all 'human'!!!! :)

My hero.

I definitely am, but I'm not always vocal about it. I've been working on being less so, but it is really hard.

Just to help you...those leashes are godsends for parents of kids who are runners, hyperactive, etc. Yes, we do watch the kids, but parenting a hyperactive kid is tiring and we're human, so those leashes are extra protection.

I only used one twice with my youngest (who ended up having ADHD), in Disney World and when we were hiking along a cliff.
