are you invisible too?

I spent a lot of time as chauffer for my 7th grader and her friends this weekend.

the girls will greet you when they get into the car, and thank you for the ride when they say goodbye.

but in between -- you're invisible.

and done that.....yah I have been invisible before.......
kids will be kids......no matter what age

Sorry, my son sees how many times he can kiss me in the car drop off line at school in the morning before we get to the door. Then he blows me a kiss as I drive off. :teeth:

I'm glad they at least acknowledge you when they get in and out. It drives me crazy when kids jump out of my car without a thank you. Everytime it happens, my poor daughter gets the question, "You thank your friends' moms, right?" The good thing about being invisible, though, is being a fly on the wall and learning what's going on without prying. We're just getting to the preteen state - yikes, wish me luck!

Yep. I'm the Invisible Mom too. I like it. It really amazes me the info I get just by listening. I know who likes who, who hates who, who's zooming who and other assorted trivial bits of 8th grade gossip. Thankfully, all DD's friends are very polite and thank me for driving them. If they only knew how much of a favor they're doing me.;)

I know what you mean about the fly on the wall, though. I have heard some stuff about ....dare I say it? boys. :) :) :) :) :) :)

Yes, I am invisible too. Especially with DS16's friends. They are all very polite and say TY when they get out. If I just sit quietly they talk freely and I learn a LOT. I like to listen too. So I don't mind the invisibility at all.

DD14, on the other hand...well I was Girl Scout leader to most of her friends and they seem to LIKE to talk to me. Sometimes I wish they would shut up!!:D

Unbelievable! I responded and my post didn't show up....

LOL, I used to love the 'invisible' factor that always came into play with my dd and her friends. They would discuss the funniest stuff in my backseat. I used to like carting them all around just for the entertainment value.

When I was younger, I was much quieter than I am today. My parents raised me with manners, so I always said hello to the parent and goodbye, along with a thank you. However, unless I knew the parents well, I wasn't the type of kid to start a conersation with a parent. I was always very shy, especially in middle school.

Now, forget it. You can't get me to shut up :)
