Hmm, I love to wear dresses but never considered that high maintenance. Probably not what you are saying! I don't wear much makeup but love my gloss. I get my hair cut 2 times a year, if that! I love high heels but have had the some of them for years. I get my nails done because i'm a nail bitter and can't with the fakes but never get peds or massages because i can't justify spending that much on myself.

I have a friend who spends crazy money on jeans.

I really never thought of clothing choice as high maintenance. I feel I am very low maintenance but am girly in my clothing style. Not on how much i spend though, i use coupon codes and sales.

My DH can't brush his teeth without help from me! I never ask him for help. My friends always say i'm soooo low maintenance. To me high maintenance is the person who can't do anything alone or for themselves. Takes things for granted and expects the world to revolve around them. If they have a dollar they spend it on themselves and wouldn't think twice.

I see girls at the gym who come in with their matchy outfits and expensive shoes, accessories and with makeup and hair all done up to work out. Soooo not me, when I hit the gym it is 5am so i have the just rolled out of bed look! Those girls are "sporty" but come on, way more high maintenance! Their blinged out iPod case costs more than my whole outfit.

I get you.

For me, being "girly" is not fun at all and WAY to much to maintain...for me.

My sisters LOVE it all and it works for them. I am the closest my dad came to getting a son.:lmao:

I don't get that either--do they think they look good with mascara running down their face from sweating on the elliptical :lmao:

I think I'm super low maintenance. I'm fiercely independent, I'm jeans and t-shirts, sneakers or flipflops, no jewelry, no makeup (I don't think I need it,) blowdried hair usually in a ponytail, and I try to be tactful and courteous when dealing with others. Basically, my vice is strollers, I love strollers, lol. Oh and Disney. I'm pretty simple.

Ok, the cut/coloring of hair-my hair is short and it grows fast coupled with the fact that due to genetics I would be ALL GRAY if I didn't color, I get my hair cut and colored every 5 weeks. If I didn't HAVE to, I wouldn't. I suppose I could let my hair go gray, but I am only in my mid-40's and not ready for that yet :lmao:.

I am the same. If my hair gets 3 inches long that is too long for me. I have mine cut every 5 weeks and colored every 10 weeks.

I have acrylic nails which are filled every two weeks. Every other month or so I get a pedicure as well. My daughters think I am high maintenance because for an hour after my nails are done I don't want to touch anything and smudge my nails. I also have to be careful about catching them on door handles because it is painful to me.

I also wax most of my face. As I get older (45 now) I get more hair where it should not be. A couple of weeks ago I started having my eyebrows tinted and love it. I didn't realize how light they had gotten.

I do love shopping. However I don't buy much because I want to purchase things that look good on me, not purchase just because I need pants and these are in my size.

Despite all this primping I consider myself low maintenance. I am easy going with friends and family and don't like to be the center of attention.

Not in the least. And sporty is a nice word for it. :)

I've never had a professional manicure, pedicure, massage, waxing, hair dying, or anything like that.

I rarely wear makeup and my hair is usually in a pony tail, unless I'm going out or something (which I rarely do). Then I'll let my hair down and wear some makeup.

Oh, and I'm not picky about soaps or shampoos (well, semi picky about shampoo - I prefer Infusium23 which isn't Suave, but isn't a salon shampoo, either).

other than the fact that I DO use Suave, you and could be soul-sisters!:thumbsup2

If we're talking about fashion and whether you are casual or dressy. Then, I'm only high-maintenance on Sundays. ;)

My daily wear is jeans and t-shirts or sweatshirts in the winter. And capris and tees in the summer. My job isn't conducive to dressing up, makeup or styled hair. It would be a waste of my time and energy. I just let my hair dry naturally, twist is up in back in a big clip, and I'm ready to go.

But, because I don't wear makeup or do my hair daily, I really enjoy getting dressed up for church on Sundays or for special events/parties/etc. So, I definitely have my girly moments.

(I've always thought of high maintenance as more of a personality than looks. Yeah, those woman like to dress to the nines; but I know plenty of women who are ALWAYS put together and are NOT high maintenance. The furthest thing from it actually.)

I voted other. I am not a material person. I am a homebody who is content with snuggling under a blanket watching a movie on the tv. I enjoy chatting. Don't need fancy clothes, so on.

Well, OceanAnnie, I wouldn't have said I was high maintenance until I read the responses here. I voted "sometimes, when I feel like it" as a compromise. I get my hair cut and colored every 5 weeks. I have no problem with letting my hair grow gray but I am in that ucky in-between stage where my hair is half gray and half mousy brown if I don't dye it. I blow dry my hair and sometimes use a flat iron. I also wear make-up during the week (eyes, lips, cheeks) and on the weekends if I am going anywhere worthwhile (not places like the grocery store or mall, but events). I work out usually five days a week. I am so-so about clothes but that is in part because I hate to shop and don't have the time or money to keep up with constantly keeping my wardrobe updated. I go for a mani / pedi every once in a while. I wish I could afford to go more often than I do. I get a massage probably once a year. Again, I wish I could go on a regular basis.

For all that work though, the returns are diminishing with age. I'm like that old car that gets more and more time in the shop but it will never be shiny like a new car. KWIM?

Personalitywise, I am extremely low maintenance / low key / no fuss.

I'm semi-high-maintenance I guess. I dye my hair and pluck my eyebrows but that's about the only 'maintenance' I do. I don't get my nails done or pedicures or go tanning. I buy nice clothes (Ann Taylor) but only because they last forever and I only clothes shop once a year or every other year and only with 50% off or more coupons. I own about 5 pairs of shoes (other than running shoes). I do my hair (straighten or curl) every morning for about 15-20 minutes and put on make-up (5-10 minutes). I don't put on make-up before runs or anything like that. I don't wear baggy/loose T-Shirts, wear my hair in a ponytail (other than running or work outs), or unflattering clothes, even on vacation or to the grocery store. I guess it's important to me to look nice and 'maintained' no matter where I am or go but not over the top.

I am high maintenance, but not in a fashionista, gotta have my hair & nails done, with a closet for my shoes kind of way. I couldn't care less about that type of stuff. But I have a wanderlust personality, and I get very out of sorts if I haven't traveled for awhile. So for me to be happy when I am at home, it can take some work (meals out, trips to my favorite stores just because, day trips in the area, etc.) Even when I was a child, my parents would ship me off to my aunt's house because I had this need to just go somewhere. In a past life I am sure I was on one of the first boats to the New World, or in a wagon train heading west.

I voted sometimes, when I feel like...

I just asked DH and he refused to answer based on self preservation...:rotfl:

I love pedi/mani's, love purses and shoes, not a huge jewelry person b/c I do a lot of work with my hands and don't like necklaces. I don't tan and wax or color my hair, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Brazilian blowout.

I don't leave the house without being showered, dressed and with basic make-up. I am a red-head, so think peaches and cream with some mascara! I love getting my eyebrows threaded too!

But on the other hand, I am the one that paints, caulks, grouts…hands on kind of stuff! I don’t think those things are very “Zsa-Zsa” so I chose sometimes!

I voted other.

I like to look nice but I'm not obsessed with getting my nails done, my hair highlighted, etc.

I do my own nails, get my hair done once every 6 months, I don't need brand names... but I'm comfy in my workout clothes with no makeup going to the store.

I consider high maintenance someone who has to be in dolled up 24/7 and accepts and expects nothing but expensive, brand name things.

I'm a Jersey girl. I'm as high maintenance as they come. I get my hair done every 5 weeks, or if I even see a 1/4 inch of root. I get a mani-pedi and wax every 2 weeks. I will not leave the house without make-up (and I own a TON of make-up) or my hair done. My hair care products are salon products, and my make-up is all high end. I approach shopping like an Olympic event. Last night my husband told me that getting me out of Macy's 1 day sale was equivalent to taking a steak away from a lion. LOL! I have shoes to match every outfit, and I don't own a non designer purse. It takes me 2 hours to get ready.

Personality wise, I just go with the flow.

I'm not High Maintence in the traditional sense... I don't get all "dolled up" with make-up and such. I do what I need to do look "decent" which is about a 15 min. route for hair, make-up, etc.

But I'm High Maintence Tech Geek...I love high-tech stuff: Ipods, computers, nook.. etc. My hubby bought me the newest Ipod nano for X-mas. I saw the box, which looked like a ring box, and I was perplexed.. Until I opened it and was very happy:lovestruc
What do i want for Valentine's Day? The PS90X exercise program-not high tech perse.. It's pricey.

I'd like to swear up and down I'm low maitenance... but I'm high maintenance not as far as getting spiffied up or apperance that I'm low maintenance , but in other areas I'm high maitenance so I said high maitenence to be fair
