Are you good at making conversation?

I'm horrible at making conversation in person, especially with someone i don't know! I start to stutter and turn all red and its really pathetic!!

Unfortunately, I have had people tell me they feel the opposite!

I believe you. It's probably easier to make that assumption than to stop and think that there may be more to the person's quietness than being a snob. Well, if they aren't willing to take the time to get to know you, they aren't worth getting to know.

WOW! Thanks everyone for the encouragement and the advice. I have been thinking of questions all day! LOL! I have some good basic questions to ask. Since it is a Newcombers Group everyone was new to the whole area at one time so there are lots of good questions there. And we all will have kids in common.
I also am going to take the advice try to talk to one or two Moms and not try to "get to know" the whole group. I think that will be easier for me.
During the summer the playgroups are usually held in area parks. But tomorrow it is supposed to rain so it is held indoors at a playarea. DD has been here before so I know she will like it.
I really would like to, over time, just make a friend or two. And my main motivation is to get Avery around some other kids. She gets bored with Mama all of the time!

I am nervous, but I am going to do it!
