Are you going to renew your AP this year?

This is the question I have to answer in a month. I'm really not impressed with the Best Rate system, the codes of last year were much better and it seems that Disney is always offering some kind of good deal. So, those of you in the same position, what are you going to do? Renew or not? :confused3

I just renewed in October, but that was because I knew I was getting at least 3, if not 4 trips on that AP. I personally base my decision on how many days in the next year I plan to be in the parks. If it is more than 10, I go for the AP. So really, what are your vacation plans for the next year? Are you going to get the days in at the parks?

Well, for sure we are doing 8 days in March. But other than that, right now, I just don't know. We have plans to try to go to DL in October, but if that doesn't pan out, it may turn into a WDW trip instead in Oct. And is that is the case, an AP would make sense, but I just don't know what we'll be doing yet in Oct.

I am going to let mine expire in April.

But I will be buying a new voucher in May. We know we will be going back in Nov for sure. But I dont want to lose time on my AP by renewing it in April. Buying a voucher for Nov will give me a whole year from Nov. So I wont be losing 6 months on it.

Mine expires in april even though I am going back next dec. I am not going to renew it, because when we got these AP's we knew we would get 3 or so trips out of them, and this feb will be our 3rd trip. our next trip in dec may be our last for a while, we don't know, so we don't want to get them and not use them.
:goodvibes

Yes I am, but then I use it for more than just discounts. I don't like the BRP either so I usually just for the Florida Resident Discounts when we want to stay onsite.

I bought my AP because we were going to spend a lot of time in the parks this past year. And we did, 36 days, so it was well worth the money. I did get AP rate rooms each time (last time through BRP) but that was NOT a deciding factor in purchasing the APs or scheduling the trips. We would have done both with or without the AP room discounts.

Our APs expire in about 10 days. We will not be renewing them. We will not be returning to WDW until at least May and then again the next January. So renewing now just to save the $20.00 when will be able to cover two trips instead of one if we wait doesn't make sense for us. We will definately be buying APs again, but the only deciding factor will be how many days we will be able to go to the parks in the next years time, not what discounts we may or may not get.

My AP expired four days ago. Wewill not be going again until the end of April. I cannot see renewing now and wasting over four months of my AP, so I will just buy a new one in April. I think the difference in price between renewal and new AP is only $40.00. The savings are just not worth having an AP for Dec 16th thru April 28th that won't be used until 4/29. If the renewals worked like a new AP and the clock didn't actually start until the first time you used it I would be all over that renewal, but since the clock starts the day after your current AP expires I will forego the $40 savings.

We've been debating this too. Ours expire in June. We know we will be going in Oct. but are thinking we need to cut down on our trips. I mean 2-3 WDW trips a year is starting to catch up to us......However, after skipping out on a Christmas trip this year, we kinda want to go next Christmas again. So, if we end up going in Oct. and Dec. then we will probably renew. I don't know. I guess we'll see when we get there. It might also benefit us to let it expire and get a new one in Oct. that will last through the next Oct. (as we always go in Oct.). Choices, choices.....

My AP will expire Nov. 29, 2006, and I doubt I will buy another. I have made a lot of solo trips to WDW the past few years, and I need to cut back. I will probably buy a non-expiring 10-day hopper from Ticket Mania.

Our AP's expire in April and we're not renewing for '06 because I think February is going to be our only WDW trip for '06. Our honeymoon is in DL, and I have plans to go to WDW in April of '07 and December of '07 so I think we'll probably get the APs then.

I HAVE to renew my AP...It expires a week before our trip in February...and I needed it to get the BEST RATE on three rooms at Pop Century...AND to be able to purchase the Disney Dinning Card for 20% for much of the meals. I also go at least three-four times a year at five to six days each time..If I should start going fewer times a year..I may not renew after next year...I don't know....The decisions for "which way to go" any more..in the last year...have become a bit more complex... :rotfl:

We let ours lapse. Not sure if I will get a new one or not. I have to sit down and budget to see if it is worth the price.

Definatly wasn't going to renew since I won't be down again until next November.

Will renew in September since we go as many as 30 days or more a year. FLorida residency makes it practical.

Yes - I just did. I bought my AP because it was the cheapest option for admission to the parks based on the number of trips we make.

In addition I was able to get BRP twice, the next is in Feb at CBR and I am happy with both rates. Another extra from my AP was the DDE saving me 20% on meals, just one day with my family and bil's family and that paid for itself!

I think we have to back track to doing the math purely on number of days at the parks to determine if its a value. I have always thought of the resort and other discounts as a bonus anyway.

As long as we live in the area we will renew them next year when they expire. It's worth it to me as we go down a few times a month.

We never renew since we get better use out of the PAP by going three times during one 12 month period. So we just get a new one the next time we go after the old one expires.

Mine and oldest DD's expire the first week of Feb. DH and other DD just claimed theirs at GuestServices in November so they're good for 11 more months. Our next SCHEDULED trip is April, so I'll purchase vouchers for Kelly and I. I'll have DH's AP for our BR check in in April, then convert our vouchers. I like having them spread out over a time so I won't have to pay for all four at once. THis is our first time using the BRP, so far no adjustments. I truly miss the old way of booking. I am seriously concidering a trip the end of January to get one lst use out of our AP's that expire in Feb. Right now I'm seeing rack at WL and AKL at ~$200, which is what I paid for YC this February.

I got a new one this year. I had 27 days on mine last year, so it worked out quite well. And I was able to get the DDE card with it. I did get a new one last month. But that is mainly because I get it with the DVC discount, so it's only about $300. If I didn't get that discount I would probably go with the MYW 10 day hopper/non-expire pass. I don't get the AP for the discount, although if it works out that I can grab a room for a few nights for a good rate because of it, then fine. Otherwise I use it just for park entrance.
