The debates have already started in the DVC and Budget board. Just wondering if that 1% will do for you.

For me, that's definitely a plus. I still refused to pay for the frequent flyer cc, so currently, other than my Discover and AE, I don't earn any bonus. Disney CC will definitely gives me a big bonus towards my WDW tickets.

Sure it'll take forever to accumulate the amount for the tix. But, it's better than nothing. And no annual fees! I've nothing to lose, as long as I pay off the monthly balance, right?

I'm signing up. Why not? :)

I only have 2 credit cards. One is for miles, and the other is an AT&T Universal card... which I don't get anything for. Might as well use the DIsney Visa for places that don't take Amex! :)

I imagine I'll get one, don't know if I'll use it but I've already signed up for the information and the promise of a free pin & a Member since Day one card are enough for me. ;)

I use a AA miles card now and I like the rewards, there is a fee but the miles add up pretty fast & I get more for my money than the cash back cards.

It will be interesting to see what perks the card has.

Is it only 1%? DH says as long as the interest rate is low he'll transfer his AmEx ballance over to that card. The only reason we had the AmEx is because of the Disney "Whiteglove" treatment.

I'll be honest...I just want the MEMBER SINCE DAY ONE pin :)

My DH just ordered it for the both of us!

It's available now?

They were supposed to email me when it was so I could be one of the first to sign up.

It was available today. By the way, make sure you read the fine print - your don't earn the Disney Reward Dollars on balance transfers...only regular purchases. And think about it...1% - that means you have to spend $100 to get $1 - to get enough reward dollars to get a park hopper, you'd need to spend $2000-$4000 - and that's just for one park hopper.

Since it doesn't work on balance transfers, I probably won't get it. Unless someone reads where it's not a one-to-one ratio with these reward dollars, then I might reconsider.

The most I know of any reward cards giving is 3% - 5% for specific purchase. I have an Exxon card that gives 3% on Exxon/Mobil purchases, other shopping is 1% but it is in the form of a rebate on Exxon/Mobil purchases. I'd use the card for 3% back in Disney Dollars when I use it at WDW or their stores. When buying passes or something like that it would really add up.

Discover and most of the cash back cards the rate is less than 1% because of the sliding scale. I've never seen a card offer rewards on balance transfers and I seem to get a new offer every other day.

For me to use the card at more than Disney I'd like a better reward than I currently get with my AA card, I have to spend $25,000 to get a trip but sometimes there are other ways to earn extra miles. So far I've used the miles to fly my parents who live where airfare tends to be very high so I've gotten a good deal. I'll continue to use it with most of my purchases if the Disney card is only 1% back.

I just signed up for one.

I will be a little upset if I don't get the "Since day one" card because I signed up for email notification but never got notified.

I don't really need it but I thought it would be cool since it said "Disney" on it.

Re-check that math, 1% of $2000 is $20, 1% of $20,000 is 200. No credit card is worth that, I'd rather pay cash any day of the week.

Janette, I have not found where it says that you can get 3% on these kinds of purchases. Could you tell me where you saw this?

Thanks! :)

I haven't either Beth, just wishful thinking on the basis of what some other cards offer. :p

That is what I thought that you might have meant, Janette, but I did not know if I missed anything in the fine print on the Disney card website.

You get 3% on your Toys R Us Visa when making purchases at Toys R Us and Kids R Us.

I just applied on the phone---Thanks for the link, Emmagata!

You do get the "since day 1" status by applying now--I made sure to ask the question---And you get the pin with your first purchase----I'll probably use it in place of my Disney card at WDW now--Better rate than that card, no annual fee, plus 1% reward is better than nothing--I'm interested to see what kind of "Bonus offers" they'll have...

It is interesting for sure, however the thought of another cc is a little scary!

Laura :)

This card is a rip off as it stands now--I'll stick with my GM card and Marriott Rewards cards.

WOW, did you see the interest rate on that bad boy? And convienence checks don't count either. Who are they kidding that this is a good deal.

I haven't read the fine print yet but 6 mos interest free on vacation packages sounds pretty good to me ;)

This is Soooo much better than the DC (or the old free MKC for that matter)
