I'm so jealous of those of you that live close to DLR and WDW. I'm in Indiana and it's just over 1000 miles and about a 17 hour car drive to WDW and, well DLR is way to far away.

OK had to hedge on this a bit. Right now I am about 6 hours from DLR (if my daughter is driving - scary) but in a little over two weeks I will be living about 20 min away from WDW, woot! :cool1:

had no idea that so many people were by WDW i thought this whole game was a DLR thing... oh well i know im not alone :P

:woohoo: Woot for you :woohoo: Good luck with the move :)

I live closer to WDW (if you call 1,000 miles close to WDW :rotfl: ). We love WDW and have been DVC members since 1992, so our trips would not stop if VMK ended. VMK has only added enjoyment to our trips :)

Now what would be affected is, Disney would no longer get my $9.95 a day internet fee. :rolleyes1

Wow! I found this poll very very interesting! Although only 5 people within 50 miles of WDW?? I KNOW there are a lot more than that here on the DIS so some of you are not voting... :rolleyes1

I agree with Bearz, also. I am a DVC member, so my trips to WDW are dictated by the number of points I have, not VMK things. I'll still go in December, regardless of whether there is a VMK Central in WDW. I'll still be bringing seven other people. I'll still spend a zillion dollars on pins. Disney has me, not VMK. VMK is a great escape from reality, but I am a Disney fan regardless.

Nonetheless, having bought a great many VMK cards from DLR folks on eBay, this is going to put a severe crimp in my supply line! LOL

LOL! I voted for within 50 miles, but it's actually more like 60. But I figured since we go every week, the extra 10 miles wouldn't count :) I'd love to live in Celebration though!

Living just outside Sunny San Diego, CA (I'm all but neighbors to Bird, I understand) I'm about 110 miles south of DLR. That's a 1.5-2hr drive depending on how much I want to speed and/or traffic. Thanks to that horrible I-5 traffic I've had some trips take 4+ hours! Ugh. Heh. Still, this millenium I average about 8 trips a year.

Hey Zoo & Bearz - What's a DVC Member?

Yes, it's Disney Vacation Club, and if you want more information, PM me and I'll be glad to refer you!!!!! (yes, I get stuff for referrals!);) ;) ;)

Not that I'd ever drive I guess:
DLR is 1917.47 miles and estimated time to get there would be 27 hours, 27 minutes

WDW narrowly beats that by being 1576.77 miles away and estimated time of 24 hours, 17 minutes

I am perfectly happy though hopping on a plane for a couple hour flight to visit either place though WDW I have been to way more. Though the fact they are ending does still sadden me partly since I never really did get to experience the fun of questing like many of you have, I go even if there were no quests, yes since I have only made it there for questing one time and there weren't many out then. I am a Disney addict and proud of it. :earsgirl:

Well we live about hour and half to about 2 hours from DLR...depending on traffic!! And that still isn't close enough!!
I could live right next door..lol I will say that we have gone to DLR alot this past year..which mainly had to do with the vmk quest. But then we also would have loads of fun there just as we did on Tuesday! I would also like to say that even with them closing vmk central we'll still keep going to DLR...maybe not quit as often..but we will keep going! Because Disneyland is just the greatest place where dreams do come true!!

I'm closer to DLR, but we rarely go there...mostly to WDW, so it won't affect me terribly. I can't go often enough for it to matter either way.

It takes me two days to drive to WDW, so needless to say I live farther than 50 miles away. :lmao: For me, we were on a track of going to WDW once every 2 or 3 years generally. Then in 2004 we started going once a year due to spring training in all but 2005 (went in June that year), but I doubt that'll continue past next year (my big graduate school graduation trip :woohoo: ). Since I absolutely cannot be down there during Christmas time due to school and work, the Holiday quests aren't something I've ever received, so the only things I get are whatever's out at the time.

Personally, I'm probably one of the few who hates going to VMK Central. Only been once in 2006 and once in 2007, but I don't like spending precious park time filling out quests and such. I just want to get in and out as quick as I can. :rotfl2: I hope it will stay open though, so items can continue to become circulated into the game and so those who love that part of the park experience can continue to enjoy it. Hopefully our DLR friends will still somehow be able to get in park quest items as well.
