Are you charged a cancellation fee when upgrading your times last minute?

I have a BOG ADR for 9:20pm. I'm hoping to get an earlier time. If a reservation is available the day before, would I be charged the cancellation fee in order to get the earlier time?

The cancellation deadline for most reservations, including BOG, is before midnight the night before so you would be okay.
