It's so frustrating because I want to shout from the roof how excited I am about going to Disney.. okay, well not really! LOL But I am excited, and find that it's all I seem to want to talk about. I think my friends, who do like Disney, are getting bored with all my Mickey talk! LOL I'm so glad I can come here and talk all I like!

Anyone else have this 'problem'?:earsgirl:

I can say that not everyone around me is a Disney nut - and sometimes it would be wonderful if they were!

While DH likes Disney, he is not a nut like I am. It was his choice to go there this year (after we had decided that we wanted to go somewhere else) which surprised me. While I have my nose stuck in Disney books, he just kind of smiles and shakes his head at me. I am the ultimate planner, and make PS arrangements, decide what park on what day and DH just kind of tags along. He has fun, but sometimes it would be nice if he shared my excitement.

His excuse: he'll be excited when he is there. I am excited NOW, and like you, want to yell from the roof

I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!

This is ME! I have been so excited for so long! I thought that my family was never going to get excited! But, with less than two weeks to go, they are talking more and more. Well, DH is, DD is 2 and is oblivious! I'm so excited for her and me!
But, that's all I want to talk about at work and nobody here is as crazy as I am. One of them just got back on Friday and I saw some pictures, but not what I would have expected! They'll be hearing about my trip for months! LOL! Like it or not!

I totally understand what you're saying! My sister and her family (DS, DBIL, and DNiece) are coming with us on our next trip and she cannot believe that I am planning already. She knows that we didn't have the best trip last time (not enough planning -- I didn't know about the boards yet :D , we underestimated the crowds, DD got the stomach flu the second night we were there) and that's why I'm doing alot more research and planning this time.
Every time I tell her something I've found out or ask if they've decided where they want to stay yet, she just rolls her eyes and says it's too soon to think about it. She does really like Disney, I guess she's just not an obsessive planner like me ;) !
Oh well, she won't know until we get there that they will benefit from all my planning and have a fabulous vacation. Then she will owe me! LOL!

Same here. Even my kids are tired of hearing me talk about our up comimg trip. I think that's why I love these boards so much. It feels better to know that there are others like me out there:earsgirl: .

Oh, yes-I'm definitely alone around here. Everyone in my family makes fun of my love for Disney, but they're good-natured about it. And no one among any of my friends or neighbors shares, or even understands, my love for Disney. It's such a wonderful feeling to come here and know I'm not alone.

I feel your pain. :) In addition to talking about it a lot... I often see hidden Mickeys around me.

The only people who don't get tired of me talking about it are my daughters!! They LOVE to hear about it! BUT, there are some things I want to keep hush hush from them!!! I'm just going to burst before December! LOL

I am lucky that I have a girlfriend that is just as "Disney obsessed" as me. When our DDs play together, we plan our trips. We both laugh about how we put our Disney notes away before our DHs come home so they can't make fun of our "hobby".
Her DH likes to tell his coworkers that his wife thinks it's child abuse if their kids don't go to Disney at least once a year!
:p

Its true this really is our hobby! I'm either planning our next trip, thinking about planning our next trip, getting ready to start thinking about planning our next trip........ It has gotten to the point some family member's refuse us to mention the "D" word around them. :hyper: Yes, I cannot understand why anyone would go any where else on vacation. If I could not afford disney, we would stay home, till we could. I guess I would have to say I am obcessed. Is there a 12 step recovery program for disney fanatics? :earseek:

That is why I am here for sure!! Although DH was in a big hurry to tell me that he may be sent to a conference in November.. Bad thing... Now I want to go again worse than ever!!!! (at least he seems excited at the prospect!)

I am alone in my Family-Help me out-How do you convince DS-16 DD19 and DH to go-I'd really like to go again in the fall but no one wants to come!

(It's not like they have to pay for anything-you think they would be glad to play along and go for the "ride" so to speak.)

All the activities and PS's I plan are their suggestions (golf, wakeboarding, parasailing, tubing, watermice) -I book them and watch them enjoy themselves when they are there. It's convincing them to go!! I'll plan one or two PS's that I really want to go to.

What do you suggest (I'd rather not leave them behind)?

I am the only person I know who loves Disney as much as you guys do. I have to monitor myself so I don't talk about our upcoming trip too much or my husband will be burned out before we get there:D

I grew up going to Disney about once every other year when we would come to southwest FL to visit my aunts they were rushed day trips ariving early, leaving early to be back home. I remember looking at the Contemporary and thinking how rich do you have to be to stay there? Never thought I would get to stay on site in my lifetime and then while I was working as a receptionist there were brochures for the package deals at Disney with pictures of all the hotels available and I saved for a year and was able to go for four days at CBR with my family and I thought I can't believe I'm here the entire time.

Now we are plannng a trip to BWV in October for my first Food and Wine Festival and I can hardly contain myself:Pinkbounc

Happy planning everyone and we'll meet here so we can talk about Disney to our hearts content;)

Alone here too, I am planning a BIG trip in Nov. with my DD her DH(his FIRST time) and my GD!;) I already have some things planned out, but DD has "no time to hear it now" plus I am waiting for Fl. Resident codes for 2 rooms to come out.:p

So far, my family has good-naturedly made fun of my obsession, but after 5 years, I feel that is changing. My kids run when they hear the word "Disney", and my husband says there are 3 people in our marriage---me, himself, and Mickey! Oh, well, there are worse habits(or hobbies) to have. And when I can't talk to anyone else about my trips, I come here---on a daily basis!

I am alone at home with the excitement but we have a group of family going so we downloaded Magical Gatherings. All us girls share the excitement with each other through this. We have even started doing polls about crazy things like which ride will we wait the longest to ride!

I come to the DIS 2-3 times a day! My DH thinks I'm nuts!
