Are you allowed to order other MDR's desserts? ie: beignets

When the MDRs are in their normal rotation, like on a regular menu night (not Pirates or Formal night, etc) would I be allowed to order a dessert from another MDR? For instance if I was in Animators Palate would I be allowed to order the Beignets from Tiana's Place? Because those things are delicious!

Haven’t been on the wonder since they had tianas place will have to try the beignets.
Just google it. Looks delicious

Keep in mind that restaurants on the same deck share the galley area that runs between them. On the Magic/Wonder, Lumiere's/Tritons and Rapunzel's/Tiana's share a galley; on the Dream/Fantasy, it's Royal Court/Royal Palace and Animator's Palate that share. For these restaurants, getting an item at one of the restaurants from the other restaurant's menu is relatively easy. However, Animator's Palate (on the Magic/Wonder) and Enchanted Garden (on the Dream/Fantasy) have a galley on a different deck, which makes accessing dishes from or for the other 2 restaurants more difficult.

Servers are eager to please, so they may be willing to make the extra effort upon request. Whether they can get food from other restaurants may also depend on how many other special requests they have that night. If you really want something, it's helpful to make the request the previous night.

We had people on our cruise order a dessert from another menu multiple times. I also ordered an entree from another place. We told our server the night before if we had any requests for the next day and he was great about it. I think it may have been a bit harder if we didn't let him know ahead of time.

I think you can get beignets now at the French Quarter lounge on the Wonder. Probably an extra charge, but it's there if you want more!

I have asked ahead of time for the Fried Brie on other nights. I just let the server know that it was my favorite and I'd take it any time. On our 7-night cruise, he brought it to me two different nights after I'd asked about it. So, I got to have it three times!

Which dining room and which night has fried brie?

It's on the rotational menus for Lumiere's on the Magic, Triton's on the Wonder, Royal Palace on the Dream, and Royal Court on the Fantasy. It was one of my favorite appetizers before I developed a gluten allergy. I really missed having it on my last cruise.

I think it depends on if your waiter is lazy. Mine told me they’re only made on the night we are in Tianas place, but others are saying they were able to get it. I’m speaking of beignets specifically.

I wouldn't necessarily say the waiter is lazy if they perform their duties up to scratch otherwise. Pixie dust is not required to be handed out to every guest. I'm sure that there are some cast members who do their job, no more and no less. It is possible the waiter didn't know any better. If they did, it is rather lame to make up an excuse like that versus just declining the request.

During their 72~80-hour work-week, besides cleaning tables and serving food at Cabana's or the other Deck 9 restaurants, the Waiters serve 14-20 guests during each MDR seating. So if a Waiter, who might be handling other special requests from his/her other 14+ guests that evening, and might be covering a station 60+ meters from the kitchen pick-up, tells me that something "isn't available," I will usually give him/her a break and hope that the item magically appears the next evening.

IMO, the Waiters work very hard and realize their gratuities depend on continuing to delight their guests. And they are human.

Unless you were in Tiana's night 1 or night 2 when there would be another night (or 2) of the rotational menu that includes them, then your server was correct and not "lazy". They are not going to make them on a night they are not on the menu for Tiana's (ie: Pirate Night, or any of the non-rotational menus).

I always ask for the Grand Marnier Souffle and they always bring it. I've always told them on the first night.

If you are on a cruise longer than 3 nights, they are not made at Tiana's every night. But now I'm curious about whether there are actually any lazy servers on the Wonder. We've never seen anything other than people working their boodies off!

We have seen servers that might be called lazy on all the ships. Whether they are actually lazy or if it's a training issue, fatigue from working or something else; I cannot say.
