I use them only at the same resort, if we stay at a different one I will buy from there. The only reason we use them is because we have so many I am not going to continue to buy the same thing repeatedly. I wouldn't mind if they charged a fee to reuse them again like the watepark, or if they changed them. I am just not going to have 20plus of the same mugs.

I don't bring it back. With my luck, the refillable mug police would come after me and revoke my mug privileges.

hi all,
when i was a kid we had a pug that was abused before we got him,he was a great dog!and only once i was about 10 and running thru the house and i did'nt see him and by accident a kicked him.i did'nt hurt him.it was a accident.so no i am not a pug abuser. oh mug abuser. nevermind, sorry. :teeth:
i really think he needs professional help.then again i married him, what's that say about me?

I voted never but I am definently way to controversial to be on the mug patrol force :earboy2:

We just use the heck out of our mugs all year so they are kind of beaten up by the time we go again, and besides I have never stayed at the same resort. I don't remember if all of the all star mugs are the same anyway :confused3

Honestly, I really don't mind buying a new mug, we definently get more then our moneys worth for the week anyway. The first trip that I went on that I remember being able to get the mugs was in 2000 and we have bought the refillable mugs every trip since. I can't wait to get my first moderate resort mug in 5 days and counting

Well this is an interesting topic.

I have never stayed at the same resort more then once. I will be returning to the Poly in October. I did purchase 2 mugs when I was there 2 years ago. I will be bring my mugs on this trip. If their the same mugs, yes I will use them. Will I feel guilty, NO. If they have changed the mugs I'll purchase 2 new ones, and probably use the old ones too.

I don't drink soda, or bug juice. I get one cup of coffee for my DH in the morning. I do not drink that yucky coffee. I purchase mine at coffee station upstairs. We purchase water and thats what we usually drink.

I do not understand why people get so upset over this.

I always buy a new Mug for the resort that I am staying! I have a nice collection of them and we use them at home everyday! :teeth:

I have never reused a mug...but we do not get to WDW that often....

If I was splitting a stay you can be sure I would use the same mug at both resorts ( I think you should be able to get "permission " to do that).......and if I stayed more than once in a year at the same resort I would REALLY think about it........ :teeth:

Actually I bought my first mugs when they had no limit....
so that is the real reason they changed the name of the Dixie Landi :rotfl: ngs resort.....HAHAHA

From this Mouseplanet.com website:

http://www.mouseplanet.com/mike/ref...icy_changes.htm

In an effort to rein in costs and increase income, the Walt Disney World Resort hotels are making some drastic changes to the extremely popular refillable mug program that may affect many repeat visitors to the resort.

[If you are unfamiliar with the program, you can read about it in MousePlanet's WDW Resorts from A to Z page under "Refillable Mugs."]

According to an article in the Orlando Sentinel entitled "32 ounces of soda not enough? Disney tries out self-serve refills," Walt Disney World is making large 32-ounce soft drink mugs available for free self-serve refills in Typhoon Lagoon. That's the good news. The bad news is that you can only refill your mug on the day of purchase. If you return to Typhoon Lagoon the next day, you can no longer refill your mug for free.

Disney has added a new UPC bar coding system to the self-serve refill stations that, for the first time, controls a previously unenforced policy. Although the refillable mug program has always been advertised as available during an actual length of stay that allows guests to refill their mugs during their trip, in reality, guests often brought their mugs back on subsequent trips to refill them free of charge. With the UPC code tied to a guest's hotel reservation, this new system closes this loophole altogether. That is, once your stay has ended, your mug is no longer refillable. Those mugs you bought on previous visits won't work next time you vacation at WDW.
Another loophole that may close with this new system is that you might not be able to use your mug at any other resort except at the one you are staying. For example, if you stay at one of the resorts for a few days and purchase a mug there, and then you move over to another resort for the balance of your vacation, the mug might not be refillable at the second resort. How will this new system be enforced? Once the UPC code system is fully activated, they can devise a system by which the fountains work only if an "active" UPC code is on the mug.

WDW visitors are already complaining that the new system is yet another line to stand in and just "more time-consuming nonsense cutting into [one's] vacation time."

Did you recently visit WDW and see this change in practice? If you have any first-hand knowledge or experience, please email me or Brian Bennett at brian@mouseplanet.com to provide us with more details.

I just posted a link from Mouseplanet.com.In that article it seems like they were testing a length of stay barcode for resorts.

I do not know why it not in place at the resorts.

I do think Disney is aware that some guests are not following policy and when it becomes cost effective they will install it.

I think Disney does not want to embarrass guests who are not followingsome of their rules.

That may be why they use other ways to enforce their policies.

Such as:
3 hour parking passes for dining at other resorts,
finger scanning to get in parks (no ticket sharing)
Wrist bands for SAB
Wrist bands for EMH, MNSSHP, and MVMCP
Barcodes for TL and BB mugs

How soon before the LOS for resort mugs?
If the refill mug abuses continue it may be a lot sooner than we want

Ummm...well, when I worked there a man peed in the middle of the O Canada movie theatre and I had to call Security on him. You can be sure he was embarrassed when WDW Security showed up!

Oh, and to further add...I've never had the opportunity to bring back my CBR mug I once purchased with a "free refills for future stays" offer. For the life of me I wish I would have kept it so next time I go back I could post pics on here of me with one arm around the pop station CM and the other filling up my mug!

But other WDW "abuses", haha! If I could remember them all, I would post them. I don't know if there's a written policy against bringing in a backpack of beer to Epcot and chugging them in every Worldshowcase pavilion through a bong carved out of a plastic lawn flamingo (and also sharing this experience with guests of the park you just met?)...but if there is, I broke it. :wave2: I say pish posh to those who don't at least try it once.

God...that was a messy day. Oh, to be young again.
