Are you a Mug Abuser?

I've used my Port Orleans mug on three trips and my Wilderness Lodge mug on two trips. The design hadn't changed so I didn't see any point in buying new ones.

I don't use the mugs. Opening a can of pop from the fridge is a lot easier than going to refill a mug. And tossing the can in the trash far less a pain in the butt than washing the mug.

A couple 12-packs of Diet Sprite are cheaper than the mug (and the detergent to wash it with) anyway, and cans fit nicely in car cup-holders, too.

But if I bought one, I'd bring it back and use it again.

I tried to reuse a mug from the year before once....but they had changed them, and I felt really self concious! I've got Eeyore's luck--if someone is going to get caught, it would be me!

Now I feel stupid packing them and not using them incase they change again!!

We only bought two mugs for the four of us, me, mom, dd, and dd. and We each shared the mugs everyday. Until I got sick and then I had my own and the rest had to share the other one. and when we go back if we are going to stay at the all-stars resort then we will be bring them back to SHARE.

Here's another little secret of mine. Not only do I not use the mugs - I don't give a flip about towel animals!

I have always thought the mug was more of a hassle then a convenience. It's a hassle to carry around all day. And if you don't want to carry it, then you are constantly going back and forth to your room to pick it up. I hated getting back from the parks when I was hot, tired, and thirsty. By the time I got to my room to pick up my mug, I was too lazy to go back and get the refill.

Although we are staying at POP this year where you can get refills on icees. My DH has already told me he's getting a mug. "Have fun carrying it around!"

If I remember, I bring the mug if we are going to the same resort. As long as they haven't changed the design!

But since I now have my mug for life, I suppose I am all set!

We bought our first mugs at POR in 2001 and the CM said they were good forever. Never read or heard anything more about it nor gave it a second thought. We brought them back 2 months later for a 2 night stay.

We buy mugs for each resort we go to and only use those, but I have taken them back to the same resort. We are FL residents and sometimes go down for only 2 nights. Anyway, DH took his old POR mug to POFQ in March and the color was different, same design though. I bought a new one as I liked the new colors (and had since read it was a horrible crime to bring them back). DH put some coffee from our room into his old mug and went in the gift shop. The CM working wanted to see it and said they love seeing all the old mugs!

It was only after reading the DIS resort board that I realized we may be committing some horrendous crime.

when mugs are bad, you have to abuse them.

I bring back mugs to the same resorts. When splitting stays I'll bring mugs from all 2 or 3 resorts. Sometimes DS has his own mug, sometimes we share.
