Are you a "lurker"?

Kiddo - a thread killer posts to a thread and no one replys after they post. Some people think that it is done on purpose to show dislike for a poster. And most of know that it is just the nature of the beast.

Now as for myself check my post count and check how long I have been registered here..

LURKER !!

Come visit us on the Thread Killer Thread. :bounce:

Don't worry about killing threads because I have killed a few of my own. I even went back and deleted them myself! Now, if I see a post from a "lurker" and it doesn't have very many responses, I'll try to answer it to bump it back up. Sometimes, the CB moves very fast and things have a tendency to fall off the 1st page rather quickly.

I say "don't be shy" and "jump right in." At least 95% of us don't bite!;) :jester:

I used to post all the time (you can tell by my post count :)), but now I lurk more than post. It's not because I don't want to post--it's just because I usually just have time to visit the boards while I'm nursing, and it's hard to type and nurse at the same time. The baby fusses when I jiggle his head. :teeth:

Kermit,
That is such a cute, sweet image. I see your little baby's head just bouncing away as you DIS. Gave me a smile this Friday morning, thanks.

I am pretty much a lurker. I visited the boards for the first time when they were just starting out -(probably 5 years ago) and I've lurked every since. I do post but if my threads barely get replies, I retreat into lurk mode. I dont really start threads anymore unless I really have a question!
I do think sometimes people do feel like outsiders but I dont think anyone is making them feel this way intentionally. People have become friends on this board and its only natural to pay more "attention" to your friends, just like in real life!

seussfish

CONGRATULATIONS on your very 1st POST!!!!!!!!

Wow, seussfish, welcome and congratulations on taking the step of your first post!

But, meanwhile, seussfish, I must know - are you one fish, two fish, red fish or blue fish?

Mostly a lurker, I just don't have much to say unless someone asks a question and then so many others beat me to it so I just read and agree with what they wrote. I'm kinda that way in real life too, I'm not usually a conversation starter. But I read these boards every day and am constantly in planning mode for our next trip to WDW!

Okay 611 views and only 49 posts. You know what that means - too many "lurkers" and not enough "posters."

And, dbond, you know, of course, the answer to "someone asks a question and then so many others beat me to it" - you simply must learn to type and post faster! (Kidding) Seriously, though, lots of times posters would like others posting that "they agree with other posters." That can help someone with an important decision like "should I tell my SIL off."

Thanks jamsmom and suzannen.

I use the name seussfish from the fish in the Cat in the Hat. I never could find out if he had a real name.

Oooh, Seussfish, I like the Cat in the Hat fish even better, never even thought of him (and it's probably because I also don't think they ever gave him a name!)

Now I'll have Dr. Seuss in my head all day. (Oh, The Places You'll Go)

I lurk & post. But lurk more than post.

Like some of you, I don't start alot of threads, but I do enjoy reading & replying if I think I have something worthwhile to say that is;)

But, until you start posting & making friends, you just never know.:D
