Are we too late?

Hi:

It is December and we are going on DCL for 2 cruises back to back in April. I keep checking flight prices out of Buffalo and the prices are really high for our time period.

Are we too late for our typical fares? We usually get 3 people for less than $600 total US to Orlando. We are now running at $1000. Should I wait or will they get higher?

Toronto to Orlando is too expensive as the flight home is limited.
Advice please.

Thanks...Tracey

I don't think you're too late. Wait until January. I usually notice I get my best fares 3-4 months out. Your other option is booking with an airline that will credit you back the difference if fares go down. I know that Alaska Airlines out here does that for us.

What are your dates of travel? I wouldn't limit your flights to Buffalo.

Hi:

We need flights for April 8 and returning April 17.

Thanks...T.

I'm Tracey with a E also!! Hmmmmm, not sure I agree with the post saying to wait. I Have NEVER seen Orlando flight prices drop closer to travel dates, especially when you are flying at a holiday (Easter) period. I'd be more concerned that the flight sells out and you miss the chance to get the flights you want - and it doesn't sound like you can be that flexible.

Out of Buffalo, try Airtrans and Southwest. JetBlue is best but their prices went up huge this year! I agree you will not find a deal in Canada - you can try Airtransat or Sunquest but with Pearson taxes, I am sure it will be $600+ (taxes are almost $300 of that).

If you see a $400 out of Buffalo GRAB IT! That's the lowest I've seen direct on weekends (we're going March Break and are paying that)!!

Jetblue will give you a credit if prices go down, but it remains a credit for a future jetblue flight. they did that for me when the price dropped on my late feb/early mar 2011 trip. book now and take the credit for your next trip if it goes down.

We booked our return leg as it is the most important. As we will be driving from Ontario and then taking our flight, we opted for a direct flight on Southwest. Hopefully, if the prices come down, we can apply it to our departing flight. If not, oh well. That's life.

Thank you for your advice.

T.
