Are we the only ones?

You're not the only one. Like a lot of others we only plan which park to visit on what day. We don't do sit down meals so we can eat whenever we are hungry. We always say we will do rope drop but never make it. With our large group of 6-7 we can never get out of the hotel on time! My only consession is at MK where we go to 3 lands the first day and focus on only on those areas riding each ride at least once and then the other 3 our 2nd day. Our 3rd is always a free for all. Everyone picks the one ride they want to do again and if we have time for more repeats then we throw them in as well. It works for us.

We didn't do the Dining plan this year, because I was tired of planning outr days around ADR's. This trip will be short, just 4 days, and since it is in early Dec., with shoretened park hours and special events, I think we will have to plan out which park on which day, but other than that, we wil go with the flow. i think I will have everyone pick 3 things in each park that they really want to do, and after we hit those things, just take it from there. i'm sure the kids will want one character meal, so I will have to make an ADR for that, but I could never do a complete touring plan like TGM, etc.

I don't plan like I used to DD's 1st trip to the world in 98 I planned everything almost to the minute wantin to get as much done as possible now after making about 30 trips to the world since then I roughly plan what park what day on paper. We now know where to go when to go pretty much. If on the free dining plan I make our ADR's other than that we pretty much fly by the seat of our pants.

Usually it's no big deal to make rope drop usually enter the parks a few mins after opening tho. Next week Sunday I think we are doing EMH at the MK till midnight sleepin in an going to MGM on Monday as there is nothing to get up early for at MGM other than possibly the new toy story ride thing that I not sure we even gonna do I not standin in line for no 20 mins for a fast pass that for sure.

We pick our hotel and I get park hours. That's it. We decide the night before or the morning of where we are going for the day. No touring plans. We try to make sure that we do at least one thing that everyone wants to do each day. And my kids were 4 and 7 on our trip. It's vacation- I'm not going to be held to a strict schedule!

We do the same thing on our vacations to Disney! No schedules, we pick where we want to go on whatever day it is. Having a party of 6, including 3 teenage girls usually means that we barely ever get to parks before opening. It doesn't really bother us. If we get tired of a park, we leave and go to a different one or go to Universal. In our trips, we always need the park hopper option and use it almost every day. It's just not fun to be told where you have to be and when. We had one ADR and even that was sort of annoying to plan around, but was well worth it. We know how to find short lines and when is a good time to find them at certain rides, and don't need a touring plan to tell us to be in a certain line at 10:34. We all function differently, and hopefully everybody finds what type of planning works for them to make their vacations most enjoyable. But you are certainly not alone. :goodvibes

We plan a bit, such as we plan our ADRs, but we've been known to add and remove them the day of as well. I'll also put together a list of what parks might be good to do that day, but nothing is really set in stone, though our days off tend to be the most set in stone piece of the plans, we like our down days. I also try not to schedule to many park ADRs since that way we can go to whatever park we want without having to worry about being at the right park for dinner or lunch.

I don't like to have everything planned out to the minute either. I know people are dying for the May hours to come out, but I couldn't care less. I won't even look at them when they do come out.

I think I will do the QS plan because I don't like having to make ADR's and then try to get to them. 180 days out was ridiculous, 90 is better but I long for the days of checking at the park in the AM or walking up.

This is my plan: We will visit each park, we will eat at T-rex, we may check out a concert at Epcot, we will have fun.:goodvibes

we do some ADRs and I like to know which park has morning EMH as we do those. But we are really flexible and go with the flow more often than not.
