Are we crazy?

Before kids (1997-2004), we found 3-4 days was our sweet spot. We had one 5 day trip and we have hilarious video of us "day 5. still at disneyland. about to go on jungle cruise for the 31st time." *yawn* :rotfl:The parks were less crowded then, so I think it was easier to get everything done.

Then we had kids, and we spend a minimum of 5-7 days on our annual trips. This January, DH and I went by ourselves for our 20th anniversary just for the weekend (first time without kids since 2004). We were kinda meh. We definitely didn't do everything, but we didn't want to. Maybe because we had just been there for a week in December? But a lot of it was realizing we like Disneyland better with our kids! :grouphug: From the sound of your post though, you don't appear to have kids yet? Or not ones that you've taken to Disneyland yet?

So that said, if you haven't been to Disneyland in years, I think 5 days would be great and will give you plenty of time to see and do everything without getting bored.

Five days is perfect. You can relax with that much time. Make dining reservations and enjoy the atmosphere of he parks more. Shop. Go to Trader Sams more than once. Take a hotel history tour, they're free! Hang out at the pool. Get a cabana. That's just off the top of my head.
There's so much to do!

Wow this is awesome!!! Thank
You

Yes the hours and schedules will not be out for some time.
You can review the Historical Hours thread HydroGuy maintains.

Here's another one he does for Disneyland information

The slightest little rain shower can turn the parks into a ghost town. All the locals stay home.

We went for 3 days no kids in June, and it wasn't long enough... Going back next year for 5 days, with the kids this time...

Nah, you'll have a blast. You won't feel rushed. You can repeat the things you really liked. You will take a different pace which is an awesome feeling.
Nothing worse than the "death march" of rushing from one thing to another, following a plan with military precision so you don't miss a thing. That's not fun for me. For others, I realize it's awesome. Just not for me.

Go to Trader Sams at the Disneyland Hotel. Step into the bar at Carthay Circle at DCA (we always see a celebrity in there!). The lounge in Napa Rose is really nice too.

We're going next month with a 5 day hopper. Have reservations for 4 of them. There's a lot more to do than people realize. So take it easy and enjoy it all!

NOPE, NOT crazy!!! 5 days is great!! It will give you time to soak up the atmosphere!! and there is lots to soak up! GO........ENJOY.......
DH and I have been going a couple times a year for 3 or 4 days....and even then, have not done everything, seen everything, eaten everything....(HAHA)....always wanting MORE!

We rope drop and stay late with a 3 hour break in the afternoon and 5 days doesn't seem too long at all to me! If it seems like too much try to take long breaks to rejuvenate and take advantage of hotel ammeneties if they have any good ones. Table service restaurants can take up a lot of time and so can staking out spots for parades, fireworks, shows. We recently went for 4.5 days and still didn't go on all the rides though we did go on our faves multiple times. I love Disney though. You have each other to keep things interesting while waiting around in line, etc... I think 5 days is great! When you go they'll either have shorter hours because of lower attendence, or longer hours because of expected higher crowds so it shouldn't matter too much how many days you choose for your dates, though when it is very busy it is very hard to get as many attractions in and you have to stake out show spots much earlier, no matter if they have park hours maxed out. Have a wonderful time! I'm sure you'll love it as there are tons of awesome experiences in (and around) the parks!

Hubs and I went to DL for our honeymoon. We were there for 3 days, and had been there just 4 months before for an additional 3 days.... We could have easily done 5 days at our honeymoon! We had a great time relaxing, exploring, having drinks and some "experience" dining, etc. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone! We're really excited! We just bought a house earlier this year so we really haven't done anything outside of local day trips. Looking forward to an actual vacation!
