OK, some background:

Our last trip was March break 2004 and it was really busy, but we still had a great time.

The hot weather doesn't bother us as long as we can take pool breaks in the afternoon.

Our other choice is October (as July and October are when dh has holidays) and if we go then we'd fly out of Toronto. But....if we go in July we would go from Boston where we'd be visiting friends and then return from there and go home, Saving about $400.

So....would we be crazy to go in July?

Our first trip was July 4 a few years back. My kids were 13,6,4,4. It was hot,but not really that bad. It was also a little crowded, but with planning we did everything we wanted....I would not hesitate to again in July.... :cool1:

NO i also live near peterborough but it's new hampshire lol. we are going 7/3 to 7/10 the last time i was in ont. in july it was 90 and humid hot is hot so go and enjoy.while in boston have your friends take you to the mohegan sun or foxwoods. winnings might pay for whole trip or maybe not lol.

We go every year in July(yes we are one of those people :rotfl2: ) It is Hot, crowded ect... all the things you know already. But it is also FUN! and the Park hours can't be beat! I was blown away the one year we went in October- yes the park was empty but it closed at 7!!! We like some nighttime fun!(so do the kids!)

We've already been once in July and are returning this July again. I think we'll always go in July because I'm a teacher. Anyway, July is, yes, hot, but if you go to the pool in the middle of the day, drink lots of water, and don't stress about doing everything at once, it's great. And as Java said, it's such a bonus to have those parks open so late every single night of the trip. If you go in the off season, you don't have the late hours. Plus, the top rides are generally refurbished in the slower months. In July, you'll find everything open!

We have been there in July the last three times.
hot - yes -plan to go back to your room/pool after lunch for a bit. Those frequent rain showers are awesome. We were usually dancing in the rain while the others went to hide. Also, in 2002 and 2004 we had almost an entire day of off and on rain but it wasn't bad, just a bit wet. Just plan accordingly. Walmart has great and cheap ponchos in their camping section.

crowded - yes, but we really didn't know any better so it was fine with us.

I was also a teacher so that's just the best time for us to go. This year we are only waiting until August because of the free dining special. We will save around $800 doing that.
I think July is a great month to go. I wish we were going in July because it's closer!!
