Are we crazy enough to take a 9 month old? Update - 8/15, TR LINKS!!

Festival Mini-TR, Luggage Tags, Travesties, and more!

So, this past weekend was Festival. It's a huge thing here in Grand Rapids. So, I got some food porn! Not as good as Disney, but the food was still yummy!

Nic and I also went back to our old high school to visit, since it was the end of the year. Nic put Jacques into a tuba.

I made some of our luggage tags:

One one ear was home phone, the other is cell phone.

We decided to have game night from now on, also. Guess what games were my choices!

Here's an adorable picture of Jacques sleeping on our bed.

And finally, a travesty befell our house, in the form of my cousin, Caitlin.

It went a little something like this:

"Caitlin, what are you doing?" (She's 4, by the way)
"Playing with this can"
"What can?"
"The paint can"
"Don't play with that."
... Several minutes later.
"Aunt Jen" (That's my mom) "I spilled a little bit of paint"
"WHERE?!?"
"In the living room. Just a little, though."

OMG That sounds like something that would happen to me. I always have a house full of kids. Somehow they end up here and we have had a few "accidents". Nothing like your paint incident though. What in the world did you do?

Oh My!:scared1: I want to know how you cleaned that up!

Just thought I'd "POP" over and say hi and read your pre trip. You have a beautiful boy and you guys look very happy together.

I love your binder!

Hope to meet in person!

I followed you over here from my TR. Yours is a great report. Your son is so cute or should I say handsome? :) Great pictures of him. Looks like you've got some good plans. Also, your Disney binder looks so cool. Hope you have a great trip and maybe we'll run into each other at Pop. :thumbsup2

my grandparents live in boynton beach too! but i think everybodys does...lol!

I know, it's crazy! We got OxyClean and a carpet steamer. It mostly cleaned up, but now it just looks like we haven't vacuumed in a long time.

It was definatly not easy!

Sounds good! :thumbsup2 Aw, thank you :)

My binder is definatly my pride and joy of this Disney trip planning.

Thank you :) For all the compliments! :thumbsup2 Definatly. I'm sure we'll have to at some point! What section are you guys hoping for? Being huge bowlers, Nic and I, plus our grandparents (since they grew up in them!) requested 50's.

Haha, it's so true! Everyone who has grandparents down there, they seem to be in Boynton!

/Quote:Not too much going on with our Disney plans. We got our pins from mousepinsonline. We purchased 15, but only got 14, so I sent in a message. Let's hope that goes well.

Did you like the pins they sent you from mousepinsonline? I'm thinking about surprising DH with a bunch to trade because he adores pin trading, and that grab bag idea is great. I just want to be sure all the ones you got were authentic and had the back and everything.

Thanks and great PTR! Your little one is a cutie!

I love your TR but it makes me realize I'm WAY behind on my plans!!

Yeah, I liked them! They were great! Especially about the missing pin. I asked, and they just send me an extra, no questions asked. There were a few Propins, but they all had the rubber Mickey head backers. I'm totally happy with my order! 4 princesses/15 pins! Yay! :)

Thanks :) Haha. I'm also way ahead. But, I only had 5 months to plan! So, I went a little overboard. Only a little. Heh.

I got all caught up your PTR-I had missed some of your updates from May! I love your new pajamas! And all the other gear too of course. Great deal on the lanyards. :thumbsup2 The food at Festival looked delicious! I love me some perioges....:hyper:

I gotta start organizing clothes and getting t-shirts designed!

Good. :thumbsup2 Thanks. I'm wearing them right now :) Pierogis are yummy!

Same here! Only 2 months here! You're at only 5! Yay!

Originally we didn't make a particular request, but I called about 2 weeks ago and requested to be in the 50's building too. We were by the computer pool the last time and are hoping to be by the bowling pin pool this time. If we both get what we want, I'm sure we'll run into each other at some point!

I read on another post that you got some $5 Disney Shirts. Sure would like to see them. popcorn:: I'll be waiting and watching. :)

Yeah. Hopefully we will! We love bowling, so hopefully! :)

Yep :) Definitely did! I'll be posting pictures of that along with pictures from our anniversary celebration today at the Melting Pot (including food porn) and the Oasis (hot tub place)! :) I also got some other stuff, so I've got a big update!

It's game night time (it's Nic's choice, so we'll be playing Backgammon, but tomorrow night is mine, and I'm thinking another round of Disney trivia!)
, though, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow, sadly.

I took out the two big suitcases today, and Nic now definitely thinks I'm insane! Yay!

46 days till we leave for 2 days at my aunt's over near Detroit, 48 till our flight to Florida, and...

51 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY WORLD!

Just thought I'd share. :)

New Stuff! Yay!

I ordered shirts from the Disney store for $5/each, so here they are:

I also ordered this book:

And we got out our suitcases!

Nic's mom is a social worker, and they do this baseball game every June and it's all the fathers from the churches against the local media. Anyways, they have all the local mascots, so here's Jacques with the Red Robin guy. He loved him, so I'm thinking it's a good sign for Disney. That's Nic's step-dad holding him.

Alright, when I get back from walking Keeve, I'll post the Mini-TR from our anniversary yesterday! :thumbsup2

Anniversary Mini-TR!

First, we took Jacques to Toys-R-Us, because that was our first "date."

He tried out all the exersaucers:
DSC01832.jpg

DSC01836.jpg

We also found Jacques' toddler bed:
DSC01837.jpg

Then we dropped him off to his Mamere, and headed to Celebration Village:
DSC01843.jpg

Where we went to the Melting Pot:
DSC01844.jpg

We sat down, and messed around:
DSC01851.jpg

DSC01852.jpg

He got Sprite, I got a Cherry Coke (:crazy2: I'm a Pepsi person.)
DSC01853.jpg

We got their featured cheese, which was a Carribean cheese blend (we went with a tropical theme for the night), which comes with dippers of bread, apples, cauliflower, carrots, and celery.
DSC01855.jpg

DSC01856.jpg

And we both got their AMAZING ceaser salad: (I almost forgot to take the picture on this one)
DSC01857.jpg

We got the Pacific Rim for dinner (from the top of the meat plate, clockwise, Chicken, Seared Duck, Pork Tenderloin, and, my favorite, the Teriyaki-Marinated Sirloin, plus the Potstickers around the plate. There is usually shrimp, but we subbed in more steak, since neither of us are big shrimp people) There was also veggies of potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, and
mushrooms. We did the Court Boullion for a cooking sauce:
DSC01858.jpg

DSC01861.jpg

Then, we made faces (and Hidden Mickeys! Which Nic did, and I was so proud) with the stuff on the table while waiting for our dessert. (Yes, we are 3. Why do you ask?) (Also, the second one is a vampire)
DSC01864.jpg

DSC01865.jpg

DSC01866.jpg

Then, we got our dessert, which was the Bananas Foster, which I LOVE. We got it when we went for Mother's Day, too. Definatly my favorite, and we've tried almost all of them. The dippers are bananas, strawberries, cheesecake, rice krispies, brownies, pound cake (which, ironically, is how much we gained at this meal!), and marshmallows covered in oreo and graham crackers.

DSC01867.jpg

So, then we went to Oasis (our hot tub place) and stayed in the Borneo Room. We stayed in Nova Scotia, and British Isles before, so we figured it was time for something tropical!

Then, we came home and thought we lost the dog, but she's safe and sound. There were fireworks at the ball game, and it scared her, so she was in the back room in the basement, under the toolbench, and we had to get her out with a broom!

It was definitely an awesome night!

Looks like you had a great anniversary. I've never been to a Melting Pot restaurant, but I think now I may have to try it after seeing your pics. It looks really good!! ::yes::

I love the Disney Shirts. In fact last night I ordered the Tink and Ariel shirts you have for my 2 DD's. I can't wait until they come in. Thanks for the pics.:thumbsup2

Congrats on what looks like a great anniversary. I love your new shirts. Doesn't their arrival make the trip seem closer?

The Melting Pot is our favorite! You should try it! Only thing is that it can be expensive. But, if you join their Club Fondue before you go (it's free!), you get a certificate for a free chocolate fondue. Plus, you get a free dessert on your anniversary and your birthday. So, our dinner was only $75, including tax and tip. It's, like, $54 for the Pacific Rim, and it includes the cheese and salads. Anyways, sorry, ranting. But, yes, it's great!

We definitely had a great anniversary!

That's awesome! I love them! I wore my Ariel one today! :)

It was :) It really does make it seem closer! It's like, I pulled out the suitcases, I get to switch my countdown to the 40's, and my grandparents are going to be here next week. They're coming up for a few weeks, and then, a week after they go back home, we fly down there. They're going to bring down some stuff for us, like waters, diapers, and formula. Yay! :)

Your trip is getting so close now!!! I'm very jealous! We had to postpone our trip until January. :sad2: Oh well it's going to be way better then what I had planned for Sept anyway.
So make sure you take lots of pictures so that I'm all excited for January!!
