with HDDR and dinner at CRT? We prepaid these of course. Didn't think to ask when I booked and I figured someone here knows.

certain that the last couple of years when we have gone to CRT everything was charged to the CC ahead of time. I don't remember signing any bill after the meal.

I don't know about HDDR. Next trip we'll be doing that or the Poly Luau.

I think it was Jan 1, 2008 that Disney changed their policy. . . Tips are no longer included on the DDP.

We are not on the DDP.

When you book CRT you have to pay in full at the time of the reservation. Same thing with HDDR.

When I booked they didn't mention anything about tips.

When I booked CRT the cm went over the charges and broke it down for me.
So much $ for lunch, so much for tax and so much for gratuity - so yes it is included - not sure about the ddp.

Although most of the DDP have no tip-included now, it did not change at the Castle or HDDR.

The tip is included on Castle meal. We were just there in May 2008. Everything is included at the castle meal...food, photo, tax & tip. And we were on the DDP, but we paid OOP for this one so as to use 2 TS at Cali Grille. When we booked the ADR in 2/2008, the CM did explain that the tip was still included at the Castle, but not at our other reservations. It is also included on the HDDR, though, according to the 2008 rules.

Here's the official wording from the 2008 Disney Dining Plan Brochure:

The Disney Dining Plan can be used for Character Dining experiences. One (1) Table Service meal for each person participating in the Character Dining experience will be redeemed from your meal plan balance, unless otherwise noted. Gratuities are not included.
Please Note: Two Table Service meals for each person dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table will be redeemed from your meal plan balance. Gratuities are included
Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Merchandise or photo imaging products that may be offered at Character Dining experiences are not included, except at Cinderella’s Royal Table. The Disney Dining Plan is unavailable for Guests under the age of 3…

it could never hurt to leave a little something.

we just went to CRT and our server was crazy funny, with corny jokes and just a great guy so we did tip him even if it was included he deserved a little extra thank you!!!!

Do you guys know what % they use for tips? We normally tip 20% for good service so if they don't use that much I may leave a little more for great service.

Usually when they add it on it is 18%, so your good!
