Are tickets bought through UT still upgradeable?

I was thinking of taking advantage of the Amex offer for $30 off at UT but then I need to upgrade the UT ticket to a dvc Gold pass. Is this still doable? TIA

We upgraded an 8 day hopper to an AP in Oct 2015, we'll be doing the same this Nov.

I usually do this every year. Just want to make sure its still allowable since Disney made some significant changes to their tickets in Feb.

The tickets you will get now from UT will almost certainly be the new style TLT tickets so there should be no issue with upgrades.

Yes - should be fine. The only difference I noted is that if you bought tickets prior to the last increase (like I did - 4 day + 3 free), they will only bridge the price to the cost of a 7 day ticket prior to the price increase now since they can tell how old it is since they now have a 1-2 yr expiration and mine will not have that. If you are buying now though, you'll have a currently priced ticket and they will bring it up to current cost.

This will eventually be true, but buying right now does not necessarily guarantee a ticket from "current stock." I received this in an e-mail last week from Undercover Tourist:

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee what the print date will be on the tickets, as Disney prints and provides all of our tickets to us, so I am not sure if the date would be before or after the the Feb 12th date. I apologize that we could not be more help.

Sorry to hijack. I have 7 day park hoppers from before the price increase. Rental points came through and we are thinking of upgrading to 8 day tickets for our november trip. I saved over 300 dollars buying just before the price increase. Would I pay post increase per day cost, or am I looking at the difference between what I paid and what they would cost now?

@NY Pirate Princess

I think you would pay the difference between what a 7 day ticket cost at the gate last year and what an 8 day ticket costs at the gate this year. I'm pretty bummed too about this because I bought a few 6 day tickets before the price increase and now I'm virtually locked in to 6 day trips unless I want to forego all of the savings.

That is what I thought too. I will enjoy my resort on arrival or departure day and enjoy my discounted price!
