I was reading in a Disney budget book about there being two different reservation desks, one being called the CRO (central reservation office) and the other being WDTC (walt disney travel company - the website reservation). Is this true? The book I found it in is a few years old. What is the difference between the two companies? Is is worth while to ask for a certain one when you dial Disney? Are there separate numbers for each of these? What are the pros and cons of each?

Thank you so much for all of your help!!

Technically yes there are two but its an internal differance. Theres not a CRO center and a WDTC center. The orlando and tampa res centers do both cro (room only) and wdtc (packages) calls.

I could be wrong, but I think one handles room-only hotel reservations and one handles packages. The same CMs book them though.

For my split stay, I recall getting seperate confirmations from two sources, one for the package stay and one for the room-only stay.

Absolutely right. CRO room only res's are 12 numbers long, WDTC packages are 8 numbers. CM's can book both.
